Clinical Studies With SEMG On Efficacy Of Acupuncture In Combination With Rehabilitation In Relieving The Foot Drop Of The Patients With Stroke

Objective:To discribe our attempt to prouduce a therapy of acupunture in combination with rehabilitation in relieving the foot drop of the patients with stroke using the sEMG, which as well as ,has a positive impact on resumption of hemiplegic gait.Method:In total of 48 patients of hemipareis caused by stroke were randomly divided into two groups. Treatment group was given acupuncture with rehabilitation training, while the control group was treated by rehabilitation training only. Patients of the two groups were both given the support conventional symptomatic treatment of neurology. The course of treatment was one month, 5 times per week. Both before and after the course of treatment, the sEMG measurements were carried out when subjects performed two movements, dorsiflexion and plantar flexion, and take the FMA of lower limbs. Comparing and analysis the results of the two groups after treatments.Result:After treaments, iEMG of tibialis anterior and gastrocnemius while patients performed the movements of ankle dorsiflexion and plantar flexion showed good effect. Comparison between the two groups, the two sets of results was no significant difference (P> 0.05). Comparing the synergistic shrinkage rate of ankle dorsiflexion between the two groups, the difference was significant (P <0.05). The result of the treatment group is better than control group. The FMA of lower limbs improved. And compared between the two groups, difference isn't significant (P > 0.05).Conclusion:Acupuncture combined with rehabilitation therapy can inhibit gastrocnemius spasm, and enhance the tibialis anterior strength, improve ankle range of activities to promote the recovery of foot drop, and then speed up the restore function in patients with walking, catching the high quality of life of patients.
