Clinical Observation And Study Of Toric Lens Implantation

The purpose:is to discuss and evaluate the after-surgery effect of implanting toric lens(MS6116TU) in the catarat surgery and the stability of the center position of the lens.The method:Between June 2007 and June 2008,there are 38 cases of cataract with cornea astigmatism patients receiving Toric Lens implantation in several clinics, with T3 implant in 21 cases,T4 in 10cases,and T5 in 2 cases.In the contrast,there are 42 controlled cases receiving AT and are followed for three months after their surgery.The targets of observation include bare vision,best corrected vision,eye pressure,cornea topography,Lens rotation and position,residual absolute cylinder power and no more glasses condition.Use temporal clear cornea incision and phacoemulsification.All patients are implanted with toric Lens.Vector analysis after surgery is bas with impaed on topography,and statistics is based on T2 exam.The Result:Astigmatism before surgery is -2.0+-1.02,with the maximum of -5.5, and the minimum of -1.75.The average implant lens power is +2.0D.The number of patients who received Toric lens and end up having residual astigmatism power＜0.5D is three times the number in the controlled group.The average residual astigmatism power of toric users is 0.55D,while that of the controlled group is 1.22D.The bare vision of 94%toric users reach 20/40 or even better.Eye pressure before surgery is 16+-2mmHg,and is 13+-2mmHg three months after surgery,with some statistical error in paired t exam.The stability of lens in the bag is great,and there is no case where the patients needs a second surgery for repositioning.Both patients with High(＞=5D) or low(＜=2D) of toric lens implantation get the expected result.Conclusion:In the cataract surgery with toric lens to treat cornea astigmatism the clinical result is correct,reliable,and predictable,and can be further developed.As for more further result,more observation is needed.Toric IOLsAdvances in Intraocular Lens(IOL) technology now provide a reliable and effective option for patients with astigmatism.Until the recent introduction of...
