Objective:The preliminary Assessment was made for the quality of life(QOL) in Chinese patient with TAO by using the quality of life scale which measures the quality of life for Chinese patients with visual impairment(SQOL-DV1),and researching the principal factor which influences the quality of life for patient with TAO.Method:SQOL-DV1 was used to evaluate the QOL of 39 patients with TAO and 31 healthy persons as the control group.Investigate the QOL of patients with TAO and its different with normal control group by using SQOL-DV1.Analyze the factors which influence the QOL of patients with TAO,such as age, gender, hypothyroidism history, diplopia and ophthalmopathy classification of TAO.Multiple linear stepwise regression analysis is applied to evaluate the affected factor of quality of life scale scores for TAO patient. Results:the degree scores in patients with thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy were lower than the control group in symptoms and visual function, physical function, social activities, spiritual and psychological of the sub-item scores and scale's total scores(p=0.00). Quality of life scale scores were significantly increased by the treatment(p<0.05).>50-year-old group of patients was the lowest one in the total score, symptoms and visual function, physical function sub-item scores(p<0.05).The total score, symptoms and visual function, physical functioning scores of women were significantly higher than those aspects of men(p<0.01).The quality of life scores of the patient who have a hypothyroidism history was lower than those without a history of hypothyroidism in symptoms and visual function sub-item scores(p<0.05).The SQOL-DV1 scores of the TAO patient with symptom of diplopia was significantly lower than patients without diplopia in the symptoms and visual function, physical function sub-item scores and the total score(p<0.01).The SQOL-DV1 scores of NOSPECS classification of TAO patients with grade 4-6 group was significantly lower than that of NOSPECS classification with grade 2-3 group in the total score, symptoms and sub-visual function, physical function sub-item scores(P<0.05).Finally,two variances enrolled in the multiple-linear regression equation included the diplopia(β=0.372,t=2.541,p=0.016),and age (β=-0.317,t=-2.137,p=0.039).Conclusion:1.Quality of life of Chinese patients with TAO is worse than normal group.2.Both retrobulbar injection using of Triamcinolone Acetonide and Michel treatment plan can improve SQOL-DV1 scores of patients with TAO 2 months after treatment.3.The factors which influence the QOL of Chinese patients with TAO include the age, gender, hypothyroidism history, diplopia and ophthalmopathy classification. Diplopia has the greatest effect, followed by the age.4.SQOL-DV1 is a good scale to evaluate the quality of life in patients with TAO...
