Effect Of Gypenosides On Antioxidation And Immune Function In Rats

To explore the antioxidation and increasing immune function of Gypenosides(GPS),Dgal -actose were applied to rat and combined the theory of Chinese traditional medicine with the research progression of modern immunology.The rats of groupâ… ,â…¡,â…¢,â…£were given 0.1ml D-galactose normal saline 125 mg/kg by hypodermic injection.The rats of groupâ… ,â…¡,â…¢were given 2ml GPS normal saline 180 mg/kg,160 mg/kg,60 mg/kg by gavage.The rats of groupâ…£,C were given 2 ml normal saline by gavage,The rats of group C were given 0.1 ml normal saline by hypodermic injection.Experimental period was 40 days.The antioxid -ant index SOD,MDA,NO,GSH-Px,CAT,T-AOC and immune index sum of.WBC,phagocytosi -s function of the abdominal cavity macrophage,transformation efficiency of lymphocyte,rat' s immune organ(thymus and spleen) index were determined.The aim of test is to prove th -at GPS can improve antioxidant and immune function of body and providing dePendable b -asis for its development and utilization.The results show that:1.The activity of GSH-PX,SOD,CAT and T-AOC in serum,brain and heart was signif -icantly advanced,the content of MDA and NO in serum,brain and heart was significantly d -ecreased.This show that the GPS can remove,free radical and enhance rat's antioxidative f -unction.2.Rat's sum of WBC,phagocytosis function of the abdominal cavity macrophage andtransformation efficiency of lymphocyte were significantly advanced after the experiment.That show that the GPS can increase rat's specific immune function and non-specific im-mune function.3.Rat's thymus and spleen index were increased,This show that GPS can promote immune organ's growth,development and inhance immunity function.
