Objective To compare the difference of the amount of eruption of the permanent premolar teeth and to explore the effect of periapical processes of deciduous molar on the eruption of succedaneous premolar.Method Take periapical films of primary molars of 45 children aging from 6 to 10 years with Cliniview X-ray system. The amount of eruption of the permanent premolar teeth was measured from a base line .Comparative measurements were made of the following teeth with their respective normal antimere:(1) the frist mandibular permanent premolar beneath the deciduous molar with periapical disease.(2)the second mandibular permanent premolar. The differences were evaluated by the Paired t-test. Statistical analyses were carried out with the SPSS13.0 software, the level of significance was set to P<0.05. Then draw the histogram to summarize the comparative eruption rates between the two sides.Result1. Compared with its antimere the frist mandibular permanent premolar beneath the deciduous molar with periapical disease revealed the accelerated eruption. The difference between them had statistical significance (P<0.05).2. the Comparative eruption of the mandibular second premolars revealed a non- significant variation.(P>0.05).Conclusion 1.When compared with the eruption rate of the nomal antimere, the succdaneous premolar beneath the deciduous molar with periapical disease demonstrate an obvious tendency to erupt at an accelerated rate.2.Comparative eruption of the mandibular second premolars revealed no difference.
