Mulberry leaves is the dry leaf of Morus alba L.,which is a well-known Traditional Chinese Medicine named Sangye. The main constituents include saponin, flavonoid, alkaloid, polysaccharide etc, which have the character of lowing blood glucose, hypertensive, antihyperlipidemia, bacteriostasis and antivirus,so the material medical and functional food of Mulberry leaves will be a bright developing and studying future. In this research,we studied the microscopic characteristics of mulberry leaves ultra-fine powder.A typical microscopic characteristic was not observed. Which showed the cell walls broken up.We studied the Granularity of mulberry leaves ultra-fine powder by microscope,D50 is 25.1μm. In this research,HPLC was used to test the content of Rutin.Chromatography conditions were Hypersil BDS-C18(4.6mm×250mm,5μm)column.The mobile phase were Methyl and 0.5%H3PO4 water, the analyses performed by gradient elution, the rate of flow is 1.0ml/min,and detected at 360nm.The content of Rutin in the ultra-fine powder was between 0.10%and 0.49%.In this research,HPLC was used to develop fingerprint.Chromatography conditions were Hypersil BDS-C18(4.6mm×250mm,5μm)column.The mobile phase were Methyl and 0.5%H3PO4 water, the analyses performed by gradient elution, the rate of flow is 1.0ml/min,and detected at 320nm.19 Mulberry leaves ultra-fine powders were detected, the resutlt showed 12 peaks were common in total;the dates analyzed by the "Computer Aided Similarity Evaluation" software, the relative degree between 0.69 and 0.99.
