Purpose: To investigate the microleakage of endodontic treated and post restored teeth using different obturation system.Material and methods: A sample of 32 human mandibular first premolars was collected and randomly assigned to three groups (n=10/group), another two served as positive control. Gutta-percha group: the teeth were prepared and obturated with gutta-percha, then post space was prepared immediately and fiber posts were cemented. Resilon group: the teeth were prepared and obturated with Resilon/Epiphany system, then post space was prepared immediately and fiber posts were cemented. Fibrefill group: the teeth were prepared, obturated and restored with Fibrefill system. Positive controls were prepared and obturated with gutta-percha without any sealer. All the specimens were then immersed in India ink for a week and the leakage length were measured under microscope. Results: The percentage of leakage teeth showed highest (100%) in the gutta-percha group, whereas lowest (70%) in the Fibrefill group. Furthermore, the length of leakage in the gutta-percha group showed longer significantly than Resilon group (P=0.002) and Fibrefill group ), however, there is no statistical difference between Resilon group and Fibrefill group (P=0.879).Conclusion: Resilon/Epiphany and Fibrefill obturation system have preferable sealing ability to gutta-percha obturation system on endodontic treated and post restored teeth, while there is no significant different between them.
