Research On The Relationship Between Syndromes Elements Of Type2 Diabetes And Exfoliated Cells Of Tongue

Objective:Preliminarily explored the distribution of syndromes elements of diabetes type 2, as well as its relation to exfoliated cells of tongue.Methods:We conducted a correlation research of syndromes elements of Diabetes Mellitus,glossoscopy and exfoliated cells of tongue in 73 cases of diabetes type 2 in FuJian.We also tested 40 patient's fasting plasma glucose and fasting insulin,recorded their height and weight, and explored the relationship among syndromes elements,insulin resistance,and obesity.Results:1.Distribution characteristics of syndromes elements:The main locations of the disease are kidney,spleen,liver,stomach and lung;Interiorly,it is a deficiency of Yin,exteriorly,it features dryness and heat.2.A comparative study between two sexes shows that women have a significant higher rate of liver disorder,Yin deficiency and blood deficiency than men.3.This disease syndromes and miscellaneous research results showed that complications of the Deficiency Syndromes are mainly a deficiency of both Qi and Yin,and complications of excess syndrome are mainly phlegm and dampness,wile Yin deficiency and heat predominance are most common in deficiency and excess syndromes.4.The correlation study of syndromes elements and the exfoliated cells of tongue found:there were significant differences in the value of the MI and MV in each syndrome group compared with control group,however,there are no significant differences between the syndrome groups.5.Patients with type 2 diabetes are common to have light red,dark red and dark tongue,and the red tongue has the highest index of cell maturation.Yellow greasy moss are the most common in diabetes type 2,followed by white greasy tongue.Exfoliated cells of yellow greasy tongue have the highest maturity index.6.Syndrome elements and insulin resistance study found that IR of sputum syndrome,IR of wet syndrome had a significantly greater increase than any other excess syndrome and the IR of Yang deficiency had a significantly greater increase than the other deficiency syndromes. 7.The correlation study of syndrome elements and obesity found that:the rate of the spleen syndrome,stomach syndrome and phlegm syndrome,wet syndrome in the obese group increased significantly.Conclusions:1.Kidney is one important location of DM.Heat syndrome and Yin deficiency are the main characteristics of the nature of DM.2.DM2 illustrates the two statements well "Liver is of congenital essence to women","liver and kidney are homologous".3.There are many complicated syndromes of deficiency and excess in DM2.4.There are no significant differences of tongue exfoliated cells in each syndrome group,but differences of tongue condition are more significant,with red tongue,yellow greasy tongue exfoliated cells of the highest maturity index.5.Compare with other type syndrome,sputum syndrome and wet syndrome shows significant differences in insulin resistance and obesity.
