The Influence On Prostaglandin E2 In Treatment For Knee Osteoarthritis By Electroacupuncture Combined With Herbal Steaming Washing Therapy

Purpose:It discusses the objectiveness of the assessment standard for the effectiveness of treatment for knee osteoarthritis by electroacupuncture combined with herbal steaming washing therapy through observation of the variation of Prostaglandin E2 in the treatment.Approach:The randomized approach and comparative approach are employed in the clinical research,which observes 60 medical cases of knee osteoarthritis(one side),covering the groups adopting electroacupuncture combined with herbal steaming washing therapy (treatment group) and foreign medicine combined with herbal steaming washing therapy (comparative group) with 30 cases in each group.After two courses of treatment,the variation of Prostaglandin E2 in the joint fluid of two groups with knee osteoarthritis,the comparison of the simplified McGill ache assessments before and after the treatment,and the variation of the standard assessment of the effectiveness(JOA) will be observed.Result:1 There is striking differences(P＜0.05) of Prostaglandin E2 in the joint fluid of the two groups before and after treatment,while there is little difference between the treatment group and comparative group(P＞0.05).2 There is striking differences(P＜0.05) between the two groups in the simplified McGill ache assessment and the assessment standard(JOA) of the effectiveness of knee osteoarthritis before and after treatment,while there is little difference between the treatment group and comparative group(P＞0.05).3 The effectiveness of the two groups is as follows:90%for the treatment group and 96.7%for the comparative group.There is little difference between the treatment group and comparative group(P＞0.05).Conclusion:1 It is proved that the Prostaglandin E2 is adopted as an indicator for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis.The electroacupuncture combined with herbal steaming washing therapy decreases the content of Prostaglandin E2 in the in the joint fluid of knee osteoarthritis so as to impair the harm to the knee joint,improve the clinical condition and relieve the sickness.2 Both the electroacupuncture combined with herbal steaming washing therapy with foreign medicine combined with herbal steaming washing therapy decrease the simplified McGill ache assessment,and increase the assessment standard(JOA) of the effectiveness of the treatment for knee osteoarthritis,which proves that it is a very efficient method by means of the combination of the electroacupuncture combined with herbal steaming washing therapy or foreign medicine combined with herbal steaming washing therapy.3 There is no striking adverse interaction related with this therapy after the treatment of the electroacupuncture combined with herbal steaming washing therapy.It is the effective combinattion of all the advantages to treat knee osteoarthritis with security and efficiency and without side effect.Therefore,it is worthwhile to put it into practice in clinic.
