| Objective:Our research aim to quantitative evaluate the efficacy and safety of the combination therapy for aged BKOA by "fu yang" moxibustion therapy and "temperature controlled acupuncture" therapy, by objective indicators. Methods:We randomly divided 60 aged BKOA subjects into treatment group and control group(each n=30). Treatment group was treated with both "fu yang" moxibustion therapy and "temperature controlled acupuncture" therapy, and the other with " fu yang " moxibustion therapy only. Before and after treatment immediately, the clinical curative effect was evaluated according to 《Clinical Research Principle of The Traditional Chinese Medicine》 presented by in 2002, and other related indexes were objective evaluated by VAS, Lequesne scores and WOMAC scores. Safety indexes were observed of the moment throughout the whole course of study. All of the research data was put into excel form to establish database, and data analysis and describe by SPSS19.0.Results:1ã€There are no significant differences for sex/age and course of disease. There was comparable between groups in those information.2ã€The inter-group comparison detected distinct differences on VAS, Lequesne scores and WOMAC scores between pre-treatment and post-treatment in the two groups(P<0.05).3ã€The clinical control rate was 20.69% and the total effective rate was 100% in the treatment group, while 6.67% and 90% in the control group. And both of them have a statistically differences(P<0.05). It shows the treatment group has a better results compared with control group.4ã€There is no side effects in the two groups, which shows that, it is both safe to treat aged BKOA by " fu yang" moxibustion therapy and "temperature controlled acupuncture" therapy. Conclusion:Combination therapy by "fuyang" moxibustion therapy and "temperature controlled acupuncture" therapy, is a new combined therapy for aged BKOA, which has many advantages other therapy can not analogy with, such as more efficient/easy to operate/safe and clean/treating both root causes and symptoms/easily popularized widely. It can provide high quality evidence-based medical evidence for making standardized TCM treatment for aged BKOA. |
