Objective: To research the expression of interleukin-2 (IL-2),interleukin-4 (IL-4) and GATA3-binding protein 3 (GATA3)in ovarian carcinomas,as well as the correlations with several clinicopathologic, formation of the ascites and demonstrative prognostic parameters,and to investigate the significance.Methods: IL-2,IL-4 and GATA3 expressions were examined by immunohis- tochemical staining (SABC)and hemiquantity calculation in 57 cases of ovarian carcinomas and 30 cases of normal ovary tissues.The correlation between IL-2,IL-4 and GATA3 expressions and histological tyes and clinical stages in ovarian carcinoma were analysed.Results:1.The positive rate of IL-2,IL-4 and GATA3 expression in ovarian tissueThe positive rate of IL-2 expression was 38.60% in ovarian carcinoma, there was significant between in ovarian carcinomas and control (p<0.05). The posi- tive cases of IL-4 expression was 40.00% in ovarian serous cystadenocarcino- ma,37.50% in ovarian mucinous cystadenocarcinoma and 33.33% in ovarian endom- etrial carcinoma, there was no significant between in varies ovarian carcinomas and control(p>0.05) ; Therewas no significant between in various ovarian carcinomas (p>0.05).The positive rate of IL-4 expression was 36.84% in ovarian carcinoma, there was significant between in ovarian carcinoma and control (p<0.01). The positive cases of IL-4 expression was 37.14% in ovarian serous cystadeno- carcinoma,31.25% in ovarian mucinous cystadenocarcinoma , there was significant between in ovarian carcinoma and control (p<0.01or p<0.05); The positive cases of protein expression was 50.00% in ovarian endometrial carcinoma , there was no significant between in ovarian carcinoma and control (p>0.05); There was no significant between in various ovarian carcinomas (p>0.05).The positive rate of GATA3 expression was 64.91% in ovarian carcinoma,there was significant between in ovarian carcinoma and control (p<0.05). The positive cases of GATA3 expression was 65.71% in ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma,there was significant between in ovarian carcinoma and control (p<0.05);The positive cases of GATA3 expression 62.50% in ovarian mucinous cystadenocarcinoma,and 66.67% in ovarian endometrial carcinoma, there was no significant between in ovarian carcinoma and control (p>0.05);There was no significant between in various ovarian carcinomas (p>0.05).2.The PI of IL-2,IL-4 and GATA3 expression at various clinical stages in ovarian carcinomaThe PI of IL-2 and IL-4 expression was lower at various clinical stages in ovarian carcinoma than that in control(p<0.01);The PI of GATA3 expression was higher, there was a significant difference between in ovarian carcinoma and control (p <0.01) ;There was significant difference about the PI of IL-2,IL-4 and GATA3 expression in various clinical stages (p<0.05 or p<0.01, except of GATA3 inâ…¡andâ…¢clinical stages). 3.The PI of IL-2,IL-4 and GATA3 expression at various pathologic grade in ovarian carcinomaThe PI of IL-2 and IL-4 expression was lower at various pathologic grade in ovarian carcinoma than that in control(p<0.01).The PI of GATA3 expression was higher at various pathologic grade in ovarian carcinoma than that in control(p<0.01).On the other hand ,the PI of GATA3 protein expression was enhanced ,and the PI of IL-2 and IL-4 expression was decreased accompanied with more grade in ovarian carcinomas .There was no significant difference at various pathologic grade between various ovarian carcinoma(pï¹¥0.05).4.The PI of IL-2,IL-4 and GATA3 expression at various pathologic type in ovarian carcinomaThere was no significant difference about the PI of IL-2,IL-4 and GATA3 expression in various pathologic type(p>0.05).5.Relationship between the positive rate of IL-2,IL-4 and GATA3 expression and lymph node metastasis and ascitic volum in ovarian carcinomaThe positive rate of IL-2 expression was 61.11%, that of IL-4 was 61.11% and that of GATA3 was 50.00% in no lymph node metastasis. The positive rate of IL-2 expression was 28.20%, there was a significant difference between lymph node metastasis and no lymph node metastasis(p<0.05);The positive rate of IL-4 was 25.64% and GATA3 was 71.79% in lymph node metastasis ,there was no significant difference between lymph node metastasis and no lymph node metastasis(p>0.05). The positive rate of IL-2 expression was 44.83%, that of IL-4 was 48.28% and that of GATA3 was 44.82% in less 500ml ascitic volum;The positive rate of IL-2 expression was 32.14%, that of IL-4 was 25.00% in more 500ml ascitic volum,there was no significant about the positive rate of IL-2 and IL-4 expression between more 500ml ascitic volum and less 500ml ascitic volum (p>0.05); The positive rate of GATA3 expression was 85.71%,there was significant about the positive rate of GATA3 expression between more 500ml ascitic volum and less 500ml ascitic volum(p<0.01).Conclusion:1.There was significant relationship between IL-2,IL-4 and GATA3 expression and angiogenesis,clinical stages, various pathologic grade, lymph node metastasis and ascitic volum;2. IL-2,IL-4 and GATA3 were significant clinical parameter in ovarian carcinoma, may be involved in progression of ovarian carcinoma;3 . Examination of IL-2,IL-4 and GATA3 expression was of great value in understanding the degree of malignancy ,and evaluating prognosis of the disease.
