Objective:Tinnitus is very popular in the people.Tinnitus-related reactions such as anxiety,depression and sleep deprivation suppress people to enjory their life.The nosogenesis of tinnitus is complicated so it is difficult for us to find a effective method to treat tinnirus.Tinnitus retraining therapy is based on the neurophysiological model of tinnitus.The importance of tinnitus retraining therapy has been increasing in recent years in the world.This study to investigate the clinical effects of tinnitus retraining therapy(TRT) on chronic tinnitus.Methods:We evaluated 124 patients(164 ears) with chronic tinnitus,and all of them accept regular audiometric testing,tinnitus tone and volume testing,residual inhibition testing,and make the tinnitus handicap inventory.All of them have the tinnitus retraining therapy for 12 months,include counseling and sound therapy.Effect evaluation was conducted at 1,3,6 and 12 months after the beginning of therapy to see the therapeutic effect on chronic tinnitus.Results:1k-4kHz is the most common frequency in the tone of tinnitus.Most of the patients have the superposition masking curve.After the treatment,patients'THI score have significant degression.The relief rate was 20.16%,56.45%,80.65%,and 83.06% at 1,3,6 and 12 months after respectively.From the begin of the treatment to 6 months,the patients showed a higher improvement on their tinnitus(x~2=33.03, 15.73,all P<0.01).The relief rate has no significant difference between 6 and 12 months(x~2=0.11,P>0.05).Conclusion:For chronic tinnitus patient,tinnitus retrining therapy can be an effective method of treatment.
