The Value Of Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) And Photoplethysmography (PPG) Combination Examination In The Chronic Lower Limbs Arteriosclerosis Obliterans

Objective:To study the value of ABI and PPG combination examination to diagnosis the chronic lower limbs arteriosclerosis obliteransMethods:We studied 113 patients who were hospitalized patients with lower limb pain elected from The First Affiliated Hospital Of Fujian Medical University for lower extremity angiography. The study group consisted of 78 man and 35 women ,Their average age was 65.8 years old. And they all be measured ABI and PPG before lower extremity angiography. The history of hypertension,diabetes and smoking were collected,and serum glucose,LDL-C,TC,CRP,HCY were write down. All patients were divided into group of normal group, stenosis group, occlusion group basised result of lower extremity angiography. Normal group is definited the stenosis no more than 50% of mean vessels(external iliac artery, femoral artery, popliteal artery, anterior tibial artery, posterior tibial artery, peroneal artery and main branches).Stenosis group is definited the stenosis of 50% to 95% of mean vessels. Occlusion group is definited the stenosis more than 95% of mean vessels. To evaluate dependability , specificity and sensitivity between ABI,PPG,their combination examination and coronary ar-tery stenosis respectively,and evaluated Usefulness of ABI and PPG combination examination to predict the extent of chronic lower limbs arteriosclerosis obliterans.Result: ABI and PPG combination examination has higher sensibility and specificity .The diagnostic sensibility for chronic lower limbs arteriosclerosis obliterans was 99% , the specificity was 86% ,It is mean that the ABI and PPG combination examination has higher accuracy if there are not distinct different between the examination conclusion of ABI and PPG combination examination and PAG.The multiplicity show,smoking,age,diabetes,CRP and HCY were the factor for predict the serious diseases of chronic lower limbs arteriosclerosis obliterans.Conclusion:ABI and PPG combination examination is the best method to diagnosis the chronic lower limbs arteriosclerosis obliterans.
