The Treatment Of Dislocation Of The Acromioclavicular Joint And Fractures Of The Distal Clavicle By Using Clavicular Hook Plate

Objective:To analyze the effect of clavicular hook plate (CHP) in treating dislocation of the acromioclavicular joint and fractures of the distal clavicle.Methods:From January 2004 to December 2008 , 43 cases with acromioclavicular joint dislocation and distal clavicle fractures were treated using CHP and its effect evaluated. 20 suffered from dislocation of acromioclaviculr joint, 23 suffered from fractures of distal clavicle.Results:42 cases were followed up for 3～28 months,1 case was lost. In the teem of distal clavicle fractures, 22 cases were followed up for 4～18 months,1 case was lost, and the average time was 12.5 months. In the teem of acromioclavicular joint dislocation, 20 cases were followed up for 3～28 months, the average time was 12.3 months. 2 patients of distal clavicle fractures felt pain at the shoulder, but the range of the movement and the muscle strength are normal. 2 patients of the acromioclavicular joint dislocation had a 90°～180°movement range, 1 was less than 90°,and they all had a serious pain of the shoulder. According to Karlsson′s standards, the results were excellent in 37 cases and good in 4,1 case for bad.Conclusion:Clavicular hook plate is a good choice for acromioclavicular joint dislocation and distal clavicular fracture.
