Objecctive:To compare apexification and revascularization in two ways for the treatment of immature anterior teeth with the apical periodontitis , in an animal model, and observation of the tissue histological situation. Methods:Six immature anterior teeth in model dog aged approximately 4.5months were randomly divided into the treatment and the control group of 3 teeth. The involved teeth were radiographed postoperative 1 week, 4 weeks, 8 weeks respectively. To compare the root continue development and healing of periapical inflammation. Animals were sacrificed after 8 weeks, using HE staining micrograph examination of the revascularization tissue.Results:X-ray: After 1 week, the apical foramen size and the periapical radiolucency of the samples there were no obvious change. After 4 weeks, apical foramen size of samples that had not significant change yet , but the periapical radiolucency was limited. After 8 weeks, the experimental group periapical radiolucency area was more obvious narrowing, and had a apical closure trend, except the thickening of root canal walls. The control group periapical radiolucency change had the diversity.HE staining micrograph examination:The granulation tissue can be seen within the lumen of the experimental group, which contains a large number of irregular calcification and blood vessel, the calcification was obviously in the apical and adjacent the root canal wall.A small quantity hard tissue deposites in the apical of the control group. Conclusion: 1. Revascularization allow the immature anterior teeth with chronic periapical inflammation subsided, and make the hard tissue to deposite within the lumen and apical closure.2.The vital regenerative tissue is the granulation tissue contains calcification and blood vessel.
