Objective To investigate the effects of methylprednisolone on proliferation and cell cycle of culured human Glomerular mesangial cell(HMC)in vitro.Methods HMC were incubated with different concentrations of methylprednisolone.Inhibition of proliferation in HMC was analyzed by MTT assay.Cell cycle of HMC was analyzed by flow cytometry.Results Ranging from 1-100 mg/L methylprednisolone can inhibit the proliferation of HMC and showed dose-dependented relationship.Methylprednisolone cause cell percentage of S stage on HMC decreased obviously and cell percentage of G0/G1 stage increased. Methylprednisolone make HMC be blockd in G0/G1 stage.Conclusions Methylprednisolone can inhibit the proliferation of HMC.Methylprednisolone make HMC be blockd in G0/G1 stage.1.Ranging from 1-100 mg/L methylprednisolone can inhibit the proliferation of HMC.2.The antiproliferative effect of Methylprednisolone within the range from 1-100 mg/L showed dose-dependented relationship.3.1mg/L Methylprednisolone make HMC be blockd in G0/G1 stage.
