Objective:To explore the method that make the animal model of gastric abscess caused by the displacement of thoracic vertebrae facet joints.Further confirmed the etiological factor and pathogenesis of spondylosis and the related diseases, thus laid the foundation for further study. The aim of clinical study was to observe the effectiveness of Long's bone-setting manipulation therapy in gastric abscess treatment caused by displacement of thoracic vertebrae facet joints and its mechanism were studied. To seek a new means of diagnosis and treatment for gastric abscess which etiology is unknown and clinical efficacy of conventional treatment is poor. Methods:A total of 9 New Zealand white rabbits in ordinary grade, adaptive feeding two weeks.Randomized control trial was carried out in the study. The rabbits randomly separated into whirling displacement group, inclined upward displacement group and control group by using of random number table.Took the open artificial displacement and internal fixation surgery in general anesthesia.Through the surgery, thoracic vertebrae facet joints were kept in whirling displacement or inclined upward displacement by the home-made facet joint displacement equipments. However,in the control group, displacement equipments were inserted in both sides of the spinous process, but this did not result in displacement of facet joints. In the first 14 weeks after surgery, animals in each group accepted X-ray examination,CT examination,three-dimensional reconstruction of CT examination and pathological examination. Fifty three gastric abscess patients who fit in the inclusion criteria were randomly separated into treatment group and control group.Patients in treatment group received Long' s bone-setting manipulation therapy.Patients in control group received traditional massage therapy. The course of treatment was four weeks, five times a week. The clinical symptom score and visual analogue Scale(VAS) pain index were used to evaluate the clinical outcomes of patients received different massage therapy. Results:The result of thoracic vertebrae X-ray analysis indicated that in whirling displacement group, equipments were fixed good, and did not have off or loose.Significant hyperosteogeny was not found around thoracic vertebra and facet joints.Several thoracic spinous process deviated from the midline, and intervertebral joints were whirling displacement.Varying degrees scoliosis could be seen in thoracic vertebra, which was looked as "C" or "S" type lateral deformation. In inclined upward displacement group, equipments were fixed good, and did not have off or loose.Significant hyperosteogeny was not found around thoracic vertebra and facet joints. The width of gaps between upper and lower thoracic spinous process were different. Intervertebral joints were inclined upward displacement.Physiological curvature of thoracic vertebra was changed.Varying degrees interruption or/and angle could be seen in the straight connected the front and behind edge of vertebral body.In control group, physiological curvature was normal. Spinous processes were not found migration, displacement no found in intervertebral joints. The result of three-dimensional reconstruction of CT examination indicated that in whirling displacement group,Several thoracic spinous process deviated from the midline.Intervertebral joints were whirling displacement.Varying degrees scoliosis can be seen in thoracic vertebra, which was looked as "C" or "S" type lateral deformation. In inclined upward displacement group, equipments were fixed good, and did not have off or loose. The width of gaps between upper and lower thoracic spinous process were different.Intervertebral joints were inclined upward displacement. In control group, front view of the spine was looked like a straight line and no spinous process deviated from the midline.Lateral view, the physiological curvature was normal. The width of gaps between upper and lower thoracic spinous process were same.Displacement was not found in intervertebral joints. The results of pathological examination were cell necrosis and ulcer formation. There are 51 cases get into the statistical analysis. In treatment group, twenty patients recovered, four patients had effective change, two patients had no effect. In control group, ten patients recovered, seven patients had effective change, eight patients had no effect. The recovery rate of treatment group is 76.9%and control group is 40.0%,statistically significant(P<0.05). The effective rate of treatment group is 92.3%and control group is 68.0%, statistically significant(P<0.05).The method that open artificial displacement and internal fixation surgery can be used to make the animal model of gastric abscess caused by the displacement of thoracic vertebrae facet joints. The displacement of thoracic vertebrae facet joints can affect the physiological function of the related internal organs, and appear pathological symptoms. The tissue of internal organs can arise pathological changes after a long time in the displacement.Thoracic vertebrae 5-12 facet joints displacement can cause gastric abscess. The results of pathological examination are cell necrosis and ulcer formation. In gastric abscess treatment, caused by displacement of thoracic vertebrae facet joints,Long' s bone-setting manipulation therapy brought better curative efficacy than the traditional massage therapy.
