Study On Functional Constipation Patients' Characteristics Of Syndrome In TCM And Distribution Law

Research objectivesThis study is in order to exlore functional constipation's characteristics of syndrome in TCM and distribution law,for according with modern functional constipation's characteristics of syndrome in TCM the more,enrich funtional constipation's contents of syndrome in TCM,for more close to clinical,increasing the accuracy of syndrome differentiation,improving efficacy,being easy to standardize the type of syndrome and extension the type of syndrome.Research methodsUsing the research method of epidemiology complete transection,according the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria strictly to choose the patients who has been made the ralative examinations in the inpatient department and outpatient department of Guangdong rovincial TCM hospital for diagnosing by functional constipation,daring 2008 march to 2009 march,making investigations for the mill feed patients,including general information,course of disease,medical history,symptoms and signs,tongue picture and pulse,enteroscope,etc,finally established a database and statistically analyzed.Research resultsIn this study selecting 119 cases,which male account for 33.6%,female account for 66.4%,proportion of male and female is 1:1.975.Aspects of TCM syndrome:main symptoms correlated with defecation,stool hard,defecation interval prolonged,difficult defecation,defecation is not quite,which are more appeared.The concomitant symptoms which most appeared is abdominal deistension and hydrodipsia,which account for 63.0% and 58.8%respectively.The concomitant symptoms which more appeared is fatigue,bitter taste in the mouth,abdominal pain,eructation,etc,which occurrence frequency is more than 20%.The concomitant symptoms which less appeared is dirty complexion,being too hungry to eat,body heaviness,acerbity taste in the mouth,etc,which occurrence frequency is less than 2%.Aspects of TCM syndrome types' distribution:simple TCM syndrome type account for 13.4%,composite TCM syndrome type account for 86.6%,which composite TCM syndrome type of two types account for 54.6%,composite TCM syndrome type of three types account for 27.7%,composite TCM syndrome type of four types account for 4.2%.Aspects of TCM syndrome types' covering:covering ratio of the type of intestinal qi stagnation is 85.7%,covering ratio of the type of spleen qi weakness is 57.1%,covering ratio of the type of intestinal humidity hysteresis is 26.9%,covering ratio of the type of yin deficiency intestinal dryness is 25.2%,covering ratio of the type of yang deficiency of spleen and kidney is 14.3%,covering ratio of the type of intestinal excess heat is 9.2%,covering ratio of the type of stagnation of blood stasis is 2.5%,covering ratio of the type of blood deficiency intestinal dryness is 1.7%.Aspects of TCM syndrome types' determination:type determination ratio of the type of intestinal qi stagnation is 62.7%which is the most,type determination ratio of the type of spleen qi weakness is 17.2%,then the type of intestinal humidity hysteresis,yin deficiency intestinal dryness and blood deficiency intestinal dryness have no patients which can determin the TCM syndrome type in this study.Research conclusionsFunctional constipations's characteristics of syndrome in TCM:stool hard,defecation interval prolonged,difficult defecation,defecation is not quite,which are more appeared,and more than half patients have the concomitant symptoms which is abdominal deistension and hydrodipsia. Distribution characterisic of TCM syndrome types:composite TCM syndrome type is the most,which TCM syndrome type of two types is more than half patients in this study.Simple TCM syndrome type is in the minority. Covering characterisic of TCM syndrome types:covering ratio of the type of intestinal qi stagnation is maximum,it shows that constipation have closely related with "stasis of functional activities of qi". Determination characterisic of TCM syndrome types:the type of intestinal qi stagnation is maximum,the type of intestinal humidity hysteresis,yin deficiency intestinal dryness and blood deficiency intestinal dryness have no patients which can determin the TCM syndrome type in this study.
