Research objectivesStudy on the distribution regularity of TCM syndrome paterns of essential hypertension(EH) and the correlation among the grade and risk stratifications of EH,pulse pressure(PP),course of disease,ag ea nds yndrome paterns,to provide a sufficient evident of diferentiation of syndromes in combination of Chinese traditional and western medicine,to advance clinic level for differentiation of symptoms and treatment.Research methodsTotally 212 patients with essential hypertension are divided into four group according to the Standardization of Syndrome Of the Guide Book of New TCM Pharmaceutic Clinical Research(2002 edition),count the frequency of four syndromesp aternsa ndt hed istributiona mongt heg radea ndr iskfa ctorof EH,PP,course of disease, age and syndrome paterns, make them comparison andanalysis.Research results1.Arrange four TCM syndrome paterns of EH according to their constitute ratio in order:yin deficiency and yang hyperactivity syndrome>excessive phlegm-dampness syndrome>yin-yang deficiency syndrome>liver-fire hyperactivity syndrome.2.The syndromes both excessivephlegm-dampness and liver-fire hyperactivity are known as the majority of grade land grade 2 of EH and the other two syndromes are known as the majority of grade2 a ndg rade3 o fE H.T hereis s tatisticals ignificances.3.T he.sy ndromeo fyind eficiencya ndy angh yperactivityis h ighestin th es ystolicb loodp ressure.T hesyndrome of liver-fire hyperactivity is diferent significantly from the other threesyndromes. The syndrome of liver-fire hyperactivity is highest in the diastolicblood pressure.4.The liver-fire hyperactivity is known as the low risk group andthe medium risk group, the excessive phlegm-dampness is known as the mediumriskg roupa ndt heh ighr iskg roup, thev eryh ighg rouph oldsa b iggestp ositionin the other two syndromes. The syndrome of liver-fire hyperactivity is diferent significantly from the other three syndromes in the risk stratifications.S.PP of all the TCM syndromes of EH is higher than normal. The group of liver-fire hyperactivity is significantly diferent from the other three groups.6.The syndromes of liver-fire hyperactivity and excessive phlegm-dampness decrease while the other two syndromes increase along with the gradual increasing of age and duration of isease.Research conclusions1.The distribution and change of TCM syndromes of EH is regular.2.There are significant diferent in the risk stratifications between the syndrome of liver-fire hyperactivity and the other three syndromes, which indicated that theother three syndromes is more liable to get cardiovascular diseases.3.PP can be applied as the subjective index for diferential syndrome, which indicate thatdisorder degree of qi and the blood.4.The asthenia-syndrome of EH decreasesgradually while the asthenia-syndrome and asthenia in the root and asthenia inthe branch syndrome increases along with the gradual increasing of age andduration of disease, and moreover, the grading of the asthenia-syndrome andasthenia in the root and asthenia in the branch syndrome are higher than thesthenia-syndrome.
