Objective:To carry out colorectal cancer screening for the natural population in Shanghai urban community,and to evaluate its effectiveness. Analysis of the possible issue of screening and to explore its solution.Methods:Of the natural population in Shanghai XuJiaHui Community,we screened 10780 persons with age from 40 to 74 using the screening program from China' s screening guidelines for Early Detection and Treatment. Those who with positive FOB or questionnaire were asked to undergo a colonoscopy.Results:10780 individuals completed the questionnaires and 8480 individuals accepted FOB.The positive rates of questionnaire and of FOB were 7.98%and 0.80%.Of the 300 persons who underwent colonoscopy,4 cases of colorectal cancer were found.28 cases of colorectal adenoma among which 15 cases were advanced adenoma,and 46 cases polyps were also found.Conclusions:The screening program is of efficiency in finding cases of colorectal cancer and positive lesions.Both bleeding and non-bleeding lesions of colon and rectum can be found.Many risk factors of colorectal cancer were found.The compliance were low,so we should explore methods to improve it.
