Objective: To observe the clinical effect of deeply needling and electroacupuncture stimulation on the main points Dachangshu and Guanyuanshu to treat Lumbar intervertebral disk protrusion (LIDP), and to make sure whether this treatment is equivalent or more effective than the routine one. The research will provide clinical reference for using fewer points and deeply needling Dachangshu and Guanyuanshu to treat LIDP.Methods: 58 LIDP patients, coincident with standards, were randomly assigned to observation group and control group. Each group had 29 cases. The treatment group mainly needled Dachangshu and Guanyuanshu, while the control group used routine acupuncture. The effect was evaluated by"diagnostic efficacy standards for diseases in Traditional Chinese Medicine"of State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The pain degree was assessed by VAS scores. Results: Both of the two groups had a good instant and recent analgesic action, and shared the same clinical effect. But the treatment group had a better instant analgesic action and needed fewer cure days. Conclusion: The two groups share the same clinical effect, but the treatment group is more rapid in alleviating pain and more quickly to be cured. Compared with the control group, the treatment group uses fewer points. This will provided clinical reference for using fewer points and deeply needling Dachangshu and Guanyuanshu to treat LIDP.
