ObjectivesThis study is mainly starting from the medical undergraduate training,focusing on the current practice,drawing on international experience,starting from the teaching content,curriculum,teaching methods and evaluate methods to explore the enhancement of humanistic qualities in application-oriented undergraduates in local medical colleges.MethodsLiterature method:Using school libraries,related information and network resources to detect advanced concepts of medical humanities at home and abroad, advanced understanding of the current model of medical education in the humanities and the main problems exist.Comparative method:Western developed countries are more advanced in medical education,and more typical and developed.Through comparison,we can analyze the commonness and difference between home and abroad.Interview method:Interviewing the problems of humanistic qualities to the first-line teaching staff,clinicians,teaching managers in order to obtain first-hand information,so we can understand the current quality of school education in the humanities.Social survey method:Taking the survey about the quality of school education in the humanities,and discussing the results of the survey. ResultsThrough research,we found that medical students in our country have many humanistic quality problems:quality education has not placed enough emphasis in the humanities;the education quality of humanities is weak;the method of education in the humanities is singleness,etc.As follows:(1) Learning passion of medical students to study humanities and social sciences is high and the overall effect is good.Generally speaking,the most welcome courses of humanities and social sciences are:literature,art and behavioral courses.(2) As for teaching methods,efficient and effective methods are:case studies, problem-based learning(PBL) and students in group discussions.(3) As for methods of evaluation,respondents given recognition of our evaluate methods,especially for self-evaluation,student evaluation and assessment of standardized patient evaluation methods.ConclusionThe nature of medical science is dual nature of properties,the humanities and naturalsciences.In order to solving the new problems brought by change of the medical model,physician-patient relationship status,high-tech development and employment of university students,we need to strengthen the quality of training of humanities in medical students.Humanistic qualities of medical students is the necessity of the development of modern high education requirements of the modern medical model and the inherent requirement of the medical development and medical health development.To enhance the humanistic qualities in application-oriented undergraduates in local medical colleges,we must1.Establishing a modern medical education which balance scientific medical education and humanities education equally.2.Building an application-oriented education system in the local medical colleges.3.Enhancing the overall quality of teachers.4.Constructing campus culture to create a good atmosphere. 5.Establishing the correct concepts of career and enhancing community competitiveness.
