BackgroundJuvenile polyps(JP) were mostly found in gastrointestinal tract of infant but rarely seen in adults.Colon and rectum are the most common place while rarely seen in stomach.Most of the researches before were concerned about juvenile polyps of infant. The number of literatures about juvenile polyps in adult especially in stomach was few.ObjectiveDiscuss the clinic features of juvenile polyp of stomach in adults.MethodsAnalyse retrospectively of the patients admitted in our ward within the year of 2003-2007 for the purpose of polypus extirpation.All the patients were examed by gastroscopy and confirmed by pathology.Results886 patients were collected and 14 patients were found with juvenile polyps(1.58 %).4 male and 10 female with no statistic significance(P>0.05).8 patients with single polypus while 6 has more than one,but with no statistic significance(P>0.05).Average age was 61.5,and have statistic significance by the definition of our country for the elderly(60 years old,P<0.01).And with no statistic significance by the definition of WHO for the elderly(>65 years old,P>0.05).ConclusionsJuvenile polyps of stomach in adults were infrequent and have no statistic significance for the gender and number compare to other types of polypus in the stomach,and likely appear at the age above 60s.
