Objects:to evaluate the changes of nutritional status and immunal function in patients of non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC),and those at early-stage following surgery, attempting to analyse the correlations of nutritional status and immunal function for patients of NSCLC at early-stage postoperatively,to assess the effects of nutritional support on cellular and humoral immunal function during that-stage.Methods:65 NSCLC patients were randomized to divide into two groups:Nutritional Support Group(NSG)(M28,F7,Mean 52.6 years) and Non-Nutritional Support Group (NNSG)(M20,F8,Mean 51.9 years).The patients were transfused nutritional elements via peripheral vena during the 1st to 5th day postoperatively,when they took foods in NSG,The caloric in which contained 20 Kcal/Kg.d-1,nitrogen 0.2g/Kg.d-1.The patients were only allowed to take food during the same time in NNSG,the venous caloric was below 200 Kcal/d.The blood samples were obtained in all patients pre-operatively,1st and 7th postoperatively to detect nutritional status,lymphocyte subsets,and immunoglobulins.The data were statistically analysed by SSPS 10.0.Results:to compare the data between the two groups,all values were decreased in the 1st day postoperatively than pre-operatively.However,to compare the values in the 7th day postoperatively with pre-operatively,in NSG,there could find out PA level, TFN level,the percents of CD3+,CD4+,NK,CD19+,the ratio of CD4+/CD8+ to increase, but the percent of CD8+ was decreased;in NNSG,TFN level,the percents of CD3+, CD4+,CD8+,NK,CD19+ to decrease,PA level to increase.To compare the values between the two groups,these variances were significant.However,the significance of immunoglobulins was little.Conclusions:Malnutrition and immunodeficiency,particularly for cellular immunodeficiency had been presented in NSCLC in early-stage following surgery. Though the diet was inavailable for the bad status,nutritional support was responsible for correcting the malnutrition status,and improving the host's anti-tumor immune, especially the cellular immune,and hence,shortening the recovery time of the host's cellular immune.
