[OBJECTIVE]To measured contrast sensitivity and investigate visual disturb and patients'satisfactory degree and visual function with subiective quetionnaire ,and evaluate contrast sensitivity(CS)in patients who had undergone phacoemulsifications with aspheric intraocular lens implantation.[METHODS]45 patients(48eyes) had undergone phacoemulsifications with intraocular lens implantation ,24 patients(25eyes)implanted with Z9001 aspheric intraocular lens(AIOL);21 patients(23 eyes)implanted with AR40e monofocal intraocular lens(SIOL).At 3 months postoperatively,CS were measured separately with the Functional Acuity Contrast Tester (OPTEC@6500P,Stereo Optical Co.,USA)at 5 spatial frequencies(1.5,3,6,12 and 18 cycles per degree,cpd)with and without a glare source under photopic(85 candelas per square meter,cd/m2)and mesopic (3cd/m )luminance leve1.Visual disturb(glare and halation) and patients'satisfactory degree and visual function were evaluated with subiective quetionnaire.patients'satisfactory degree comprehend perfect, satisfactory, common and bad . The data were compared statistically using t—test andχ2-test.[RESULTS]At 3 months postoperatively,the best corrected visual activity of the AIOL group and SIOL group were separately 0.92±0.11 and 0.91±0.12,There were no significant differences(P>0.05). mean CS generally highered in the AIOL group compared with SIOL group in the bulk of all spatial frequencies, mean CS in two groups differs significantly(p< 0.05) .The scores of mean CS in two groups did not differ significantly(p> 0.05) in 1.5 cycles per degree with a glare source under photopic and mesopic luminance leve1.The visual disturbances were less in the AIOL group, the visual disturbances in two groups differ significantly(p< 0.05) .The satisfactory degree in two groups were separately 91.17% and 85.71%,the degree in the AIOL group is higher than that in the SIOL group in mumber ,but that in two groups did not differ significantly(p> 0.05).The common score of visual function in two groups were separately 90.22 and 85.53, the score in the AIOL group is better than that in the SIOL group in mumber ,but that in two groups did not differ significantly(p>0.05).The score of adaptation to darkness, brightness and sparkle in the AIOL group is better than that in the SIOL group,that in two groups differs significantly(p< 0.05).[CONCLUSION]The contrast sensitivity and visual quality of patients were improved after Z9001 aspheric intraocular lens implantation,and avoided the negative phenomena of glare and halationt.
