| Highway maintenance workers are a special occupational crowd, and play a very important role in keeping traffic smooth on highway roads through servicing and repair impaired road. Dust is the main occupational hazard during highway maintenance. Many literature reports indicate it make a severe harm to workers'health, such as pneumonoconiosis, pulmonary function disorder and five sense organs disease, and so on. During the past decades scientists have extensively investigated in dust hazard state and human physiological health, however there are little reports about psychological or fatigue. Fatigue is a typical deuto-health state, and it shows mainly chronic fatigue syndrome, what's a group symptom about week, dizzy,bad sleep, knowledge function decrease, some somatization and so on. It makes an important role in people's quality of life and work efficiency. Now along with work technical improvement and effective protection enforce, the chance to cause disease is low. The hazard may show some deuto-health symptom as fatigue but disease. Therefore, we research the powder dust in highway maintenance and workers'fatigue, in order to learn the dust hazard and workers'fatigue state as well as dust's influence to fatigue.Part I Monitor Powder Dust during Highway Maintenance WorkObjective: To establish dust hazard level during highway maintenance work by monitoring air dust concentration, dispersity and dissociation silica content.Methods: Use air dust sample collector to gather air dust sample in working of oil and cement road maintenance and office room of the same unity. Then, evaluate the air dust and respirable dust density by filter membrane quality method, and dust dispersity by membrane dissolve and smear method, and dissociation silica content by pyrophosphoric acid quality method.Results: Comparing with official room, the air dust density in oil road maintenance and cement road maintenance work (6.92±3.95mg/m3 and 8.53±4.45 mg/m3) is significantly high(P<0.01) as well as the respirable dust density. The dissociation silica content in oil road maintenance and cement road maintenance work is significantly higher than official room. The dust dispersity in oil road maintenance and cement road maintenance work is mainly below 5μm. During oil road maintenance and cement road maintenance, in rocks material supply and bitumen or cement concrete stir work the air dust density is highest, and in road press is lowest.Conclusion: The dust hazard in highway maintenance is severity. We'll keep enhancing work air dust management sequentially.Part II Questionnaire Survey of Subjective Fatigue Symptomatic and Detection Objective Fatigue Index Blood IL-6 Density on Highway Maintenance WorkersObjective: To learn highway maintenance workers'fatigue state and approach the relationship between the work air dust and worker's fatigue.Methods: To survey highway maintenance workers'subjective fatigue symptomatic by self-assessment questionnaire of fatigue, and detect their blood IL-6 density, with statistical analysis by t-test and chi-square criterion.Results: The total scores and body factor A scores of subjective fatigue symptomatic in highway maintenance groups are significantly high (P<0.01), and the detection rates of subjective fatigue in oil-way group (29.4%) and cement-way group (25.0%) are significantly high (P<0.05), comparing with the control group. The blood IL-6 density as objective fatigue index in highway maintenance workers is higher than control group, and in cement-way group (74.1±21.5pg/ml) significantly high (P<0.05). Along with powder dust exposed level increased, the total scores and body factor A scores of subjective fatigue symptomatic are higher. The total scores and body A factor scores is significantly high in high dust exposed group (P<0.05), comparing with control group. The blood IL-6 density is high in high and midrange dust exposed groups, and the blood IL-6 density is significantly high (P<0.05).Conclusion: The scores and detection rates of subjective fatigue symptomatic in highway maintenance group is higher as well as objective fatigue index blood IL-6 density, compared with control group. Fatigue is already an important factor to harm workers'health. Fatigue state is severe in high and midrange dust exposed groups, and maybe dust exposed have some influence to workers'fatigue. |
