Objective:To identify the property of Event-related potential CNV by follow-up studying and observing the relation between the variability of Event-related potential CNV of Cz and the symptoms in schizophrenics ,their first degree relatives and normal people , in order to provide the neuro-electrophysiological basis for the schizophrenia's pathogens diagnosis and treatment. Methods:The Positive and Negative Syndrome Scales (PANSS) and the Event-related potential CNV of Cz were recorded in 65 fresh schizophrenics who were in their episodes of drug-na?ve, during the periods including per-treated, 1-month, 3-month and 6-month, after being treated by resperidone. Event-related potential CNV of Cz were also recorded in 50 normal control people and 20 first degree relatives of schizophrenicsResults:In comparison with normal controls, before treating the patients had lower amplitude of CNV and shorter latency of. CNV. 2,And in comparison with the first degree relatives of schizophrenics, the fresh patients had shorter latency of CNV. 3,The first degree relatives of schizophrenics had Shorter latency between them and normal controls. 4,The amplitude and latency of CNV in schizophrenics have become higher and longer literally during the periods of drug-treatmeant.5,There areno difference in the amplitude and latency of CNV between normal controls and fresh schizophrenics during the periods including per-treated, 1-month, 3-month and 6-month after drug-treated .6,The amplitude of CNV in fresh schizophrenia patients is negatively correlated to the positive symptoms scores, whereas the reaction time is positively correlated to the negative symptoms. The latency of CNV shows no correlation to the symptoms scores.Conclusions:1,There is abnormality in Event-related potential CNV with schizophrenics, and the abnormality is related to schizophrenic itself, not the drugs. 2,There are shorter latency of CNV and probably deficient in many process of information processing with the first degree relatives of schizophrenics 3,The severity of amplitude of CNV shows correlation to the positive symptoms scores with fresh schizophrenia patients.4,The severity of reaction time is correlated to the negative symptoms scores with fresh schizophrenics.5,The characters of index of Event-related potential CNV is different:â‘ The latency of CNV is probably genetic index of schizophrenic, it could be facilitated to explore the pathogens, screen and monitor the high-risk groups;â‘¡The amplitude of CNV is probably state index, it could be used to observe the clinical curative effect;â‘¢The reaction time is probably genetic index, but it is affected by unknown-factors in environment. 6,It is possible that the Event-related potential CNV should be recorded when the schizophrenics stop taking drugs ,in order to identify the property of CNV further.
