Study On The Modern Clinical Applications Of The Penetration Needling

Objectives:The paper is to investigate the history and development of the penetration needling,and also to express its clinical applications. Furthermore,in order to provide a reference for further applications,the literature review based on the experiences of modern clinical practice will be performed to examine the rules of selecting points and curing the disease of the penetration needling.Methods:The history of the penetration needling and its applications in last few decades will be illustrated by reviewing the relevant literatures.Certain domestic clinical research and literatures of clinical comparisons study of the penetration acupuncture is gathered as a study object.All Literatures would be sorted basing on the standard classifications.The relevant information would be input into the Designed Data Form to save as a MS Excel spreadsheet.Then the information about the fourteen-meridian points and extra-meridian points in these literatures would be extracted from the database.Such information is sorted in terms of point and disease types. Through the establishment of chart,statistical analysis on the relationships of diseases,the principles and methods of selecting points,specific points etc.is carried out to find out the Point Selection and treatment laws of the penetration needling.Results:1.The penetration needling originated from Yellow Emperor' s Canon of Medicine,while its clinical application was firstly displayed in Yulongjing (Wang Guorui,Yuan Dynasty).The medicos such as Yang Jizhou,Wu Kun in Ming Dynasty enriched the content of penetration acupuncture.The exposition of Zhou Shudong in Qing Dynasty perfected the penetration acupuncture.Since the estimation of People' s Republic of China,acupuncture has being developed rapidly as well as being studied.2.The diseases percentage of using the penetration needling as treatment are as following:the facial paralysis is 27.08%,sequelae of cerebrovascular accidents is 17.19%,modification headache,periarthritis of shoulder,lumbar disc herniation are respectively 5.73%.3.The local-point selection is the main point-selected principle,counted for 640 times,followed by distant-point selection 79 times,symptomatic points selection 41 times and differentiable points selection 21 times.4.The points on the same meridian are mostly selected,counted for 412 times, followed by those on the different meridians 185 times,those on the interior and exterior meridians 143 times,and those on meridians with the same name 41 times.5.Specific points are most frequently used,up to 545 times,with a total frequency of 69.78%;of the specific points,crossing points is most frequently used,occupying 31.37%,followed by Five Shu Points 16.13%.Conclusions:1.The penetration acupuncture was generated in Spring and Autumn Period, developed in Jinyuan Period,matured in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,being popular in current times.2.By reviewing the record of diseases used acupuncture as the treatment method,it can be concluded that penetration acupuncture is mainly used for facial paralysis,sequelaeof cerebrovascular accident,modification headache, periarthritis of shoulder,and lumbar disc herniation.3.The principles of selecting points:selection of local points,selection of distant points,selection of symptomatic points,selection of differentiable points.4.Methods of combining points:the selection of the same channel points,the selection of different channel points,selection of the points of interior and exterior meridians and the same name meridians.5.69.78%of the points we selected in acupuncture are particular points,which can be said that the functions of key importance for the point election.
