Background: The 21st century is a new economic era, in which knowledge will dominate the world. Human and knowledge resource will become a key competitive power of a hospital; the value of human resource will stand for an important aspect of the competitive power of a hospital. Therefore, it is an urgent problem to strengthen the human resource management of a modern hospital. At present, public hospital is the most important part of medical service. However, the traditional human resource management model greatly blocks the development of a hospital and the improvement of the medical staff. Poor human resource management has become a bottleneck in the development of modern hospitals.Objective: In this paper, the human resource management in a class three teaching hospital was studied. After analyzing the human resource management status to find out problems on human resource management and related reasons, further answers and suggestions were presented in the hope of facilitating the its progress of becoming a modern integrally large hospital.Methods: According to the human resource management and development status of this hospital and my experience, the theories of modern human resource management, hospital management, strategic management, statistical analysis, quantitative and qualitative analysis was used to find out the problems and causes; thereafter, the detailed methods and solutions to those problems were described.Results: In our study, it was found that the unreasonable human resource configuration, incomplete staff transfer and promotion, lack of work analysis and scientific performance examination system, poor salary drive mechanism and hospital cultural management made it absolutely urgent to enhance the human resource management in the hospital.Take home message:1. Establish the medium- and long-term strategy of human resource management.2. Analyze and solve the problems on value creation system to set up a scientific staff selection and management mechanism.3. Create the mechanism with a combination of talented person introduction and staff training.4. Form a scientific performance examination system.5. Forge the prompting and restriction mechanism.6. Establish a human resource management model guided by hospital culture.
