Expression Of Vimentin,CD117,P63,P53,AR And Their Significances In Basal-Like Breast Cancer

[Objective]To detect the expression of Vimentin,CD117,P63,P53,AR and their significances in basal-like breast cancer(BLBC).[Methods]One hundred and four cases of breast carcinomas were studied, including 73 BLBC cases with ER,Her-2 negative,CK5/6 and/or EGFR positive as well as 31 invasive ductal carcinoma(IDC) cases.All cases were surgically excised in Qi Lu Hospital of Shandong University from 2002-2007.The samples were fixed in 10%formalin and paraffin embedded.All archival haematoxylin and eosin-stained sections were reviewed to confirm the diagnosis and classify the lesions prior to carrying out the immunostaining.Immunohistochemistry method was used to determine the expression of Vimentin,CD117,P63,P53 and AR.The data were analyzed by using SPSS 10.0 for windows.[Results]1,BLBCs were characterized by,high histological grade,high mitotic index, the presence of central necrotic zones,pushingborders and conspicuous lymphocytic infiltrate,There were 91.8%BLBCs in histological gradeⅢ.2,The positive rates of Vimentin,CD117,P63 expression were (61.6%,45.2%),(9.6%,3.2%),(8.2%,3.2%)in BLBCs and IDCs respectively.There was no significant difference were found(p＞0.05) between them.The positive rates of P53,AR were(47.9%,19.4%),(20.5%, 51.6%) respectively,the significant difference were found(p＜0.05) between BLBCs and IDCs.The expression of P53 in BLBCs was much higher than that of IDCs.The expression of AR in BLBCs was much lower than that of IDCs. The rates of lymph node metastasis was 45.2%,58.1%in BLBCs and IDCs,no significant difference was found between BLBCs and IBC(p＞0.05).P53 was nagatively correlated with the age of the patients(r=-0.3177,p=0.0445) in BLBC.There was no relationship in expression of other proteins with clinicopathological characteristics.No correlation was found in expression of different proteins.[Conclusion]1.BLBC is a group of tumours that show distinct morphologic and immunophenotypic features.2.The expression of P53 is much higher in BLBC.It indicates that the P53 mutation plays an important role in development of BLBC.3.The expression of AR is lower in BLBCs.It shows that BLBC is a group of poor differentiation tumor with high malignancy.4.No difference was found betwwen BLBC and IDC in expression of Vimentin,CD117 and P63...
