The first part Expression and Significance of HIF-1α, CAIX andVEGF in basal-like breast carcinomasObjective:To investigate the expression of HIF-1α, CAIX and VEGF and theirassociation with clinicopathologic features in basal-like breast carcinomas, toprovides theoretical basis of basal-like breast carcinomas’ events, invasionmetastasis and prognosis, and looking potential therapeutic targets forbasal-like breast carcinomas. Methods:Immunohistochemistry was carried out to examine the expression ofHIF-1α, CAIX, VEGF in45BLBC,25non-BLBC and10normal breasttissues. The data were analyzed by using SPSS17.0for windows. Theirexpression in BLBC; non-BLBC; the normal breast tissue compares betweengroups with the2inspection. The relevance between HIF-1α, CAIX, VEGFexperssion in BLBC and the clinical and pathological features were analysedby the2microsystem’s inspection, all with α=0.05as inspection standard,P <0.05for differences with a statistical significance. Results:The positive rates of HIF-1α, CAIX, VEGF expression were73.3%(33/45),68.9%(31/45),80%(36/45) in BLBC, and48%(12/25),36%(9/25),56%(14/25) in non-BLBC,0%(0/10),10%(1/10),0%(0/10) in normal breasttissues respectively. Immunohistochemistry analiysis showed that thepositive rate of HIF-1α, CAIX, VEGF in BLBC tissues were significantlyhigher than that in non-BLBC and the normal breast tissues (P<0.05); The positive rate of HIF-1α, CAIX, VEGF in BLBC tissues and non-BLBCtissues were significantly higher than that in the normal breast tissues(P<0.05). The expression of HIF-1α, CAIX, VEGF was positively correlatedwith lymph nodes involved by metastasis, tumor diameter and pTNM tumorstage (P<0.05). HIF-1α, CAIX, VEGF expression in BLBC, non-BLBC, thenormal breast tissue compares between groups with the2microsystem’sinspection. The relevance between HIF-1α, CAIX, VEGF expression inBLBC and the clinical and pathological features was analysed by the2microsystem’s inspection, all with α=0.05as inspection standard, P <0.05for differences with a statistical significance.conclusions:HIF-1α, CAIX, VEGF was up-regulated in BLBC, and was associatedwith lymph nodes involved by metastasis, tumor diameter and pTNM tumorstage of BLBC(P<0.05). HIF-1α, CAIX, VEGF might be a novel metastasismarker to predict prognosis of BLBC. HIF-1α, CAIX and VEGF BLBC inhigh expression, suggests that it may be a BLBC progression in theimportant molecules; Its expression may affect the biological characteristicsof tumor cells, suggesting that its may as prediction BLBC lymph nodemetastasis and prognosis of the index, there may be a potential therapeutictarget for BLBC. The second part Expression and Significance of Galectin-3and VEGFin basal-like breast carcinomasObjective:To investigate the expression of Galectin-3, VEGF in basal-like breastcarcinomas, and their association with clinicopathologic features inbasal-like breast carcinomas, to provides theoretical basis of basal-like breastcarcinomas’ events, invasion metastasis and prognosis, and looking potential therapeutic targets for basal-like breast carcinomas. Methods:Immunohistochemistry was carried out to examine the expression ofGalectin-3, VEGF in45BLBC,25non-BLBC and10normal breast tissues. The data were analyzed by using SPSS17.0for windows. BLBC, non-BLBC,the normal breast tissue compares between groups with the2microsystem’sinspection. The relevance between Galectin-3, VEGF expression in BLBCand the clinical and pathological features were analysed by the2microsystem’s inspection, all with α=0.05as inspection standard, P <0.05for differences with a statistical significance. Results:Immunohistochemistry analiysis showed that the positive rate ofGalectin-3in BLBC tissues, non-BLBC tissues, normal breast tissues were57.8%(26/45),52%(13/25),0%(0/10); and VEGF were80%(36/45),56%(14/25),0%(0/10). Their expression of Galectin-3in BLBC tissues,non-BLBC tissues were significantly higher than that in the normal breasttissues (P<0.05). The expression of Galectin-3in BLBC not related withBLBC’s clinical pathology index. VEGF were upexpressed in BLBC andwas positively correlated with tumor pTNM (P<0.05). Galectin-3and VEGFare all releated to tumor angiogenesis, and their expression has significantcorrelation. Conclusion:The expression of Galectin-3in breast cancer has a certaincorrelation with breast cancer development, but whether affect BLBC’sevents, still waits for further research. VEGF has High expression in BLBCand was closely related to many clinical pathology index, especially withlymph node metastasis. The cases above suggest that VEGF may be asprediction of BLBCs’ lymph node metastasis and prognosis(P<0.05).Galectin-3and VEGF are involved in BLBC tumor angiogenesis andmetastasis, and both can be combined application as BLBC tumorangiogenesis and metastasis of the index.
