PON-1 192 Polymorphism And Carotid Atherosclerosis

Objective To study the relationship between Q192R polymorphism of the paraoxonasl(PON-1) gene and carotid artery IMT.Methods The polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RELP) was used to analyze the gene polymorphism of PON-1 in 49 high carotid artery IMT patients and 49 healthy age-matched controls.Results The genotype distribution of the PON-1 polymorphism is not significantly different between the patients with carotid plaque and the normal control subjects(P＞0.05),.and there was no difference in allele distribution between the two groups.When we try our examination,We cleared some factors,such as:age,gender sex,et al,but for blood sugar and blood fat,there was distinct differentce between the two groups.Conclusions 192 polymorphism of the PON-1 gene is not associated with carotid plaque.
