Objectives: To investigate the Prevalence and Risk factors for HIV/AIDS/STIs among female sex workers (FSWs) in entertainment establishments in Qingdao. By this way, we can provide evidence for effective intervention in this population group. Methods: A community-based survey was conducted with innominate questionnaire to investigate their demographic information, sexual behavior, condom using, HIV/AIDS related knowledge and reproductive health status, followed by a blood specimen .Results: 379 questionnaires were collected .Their average age was 22.75(16-46). About 4.24% of them never used condoms with their clients during the last month and about 56.13% with their sexual partners. About 19.78% of them never used condoms with their clients at their last sex activities and about 62.8% with their partners. 55.7% suffered STIs and 51.3% suffered STIs the last half year. The sero-prevalences were as follows: HIV antibody-negtive; Syphilis-TRUST 2.66%; Syphilis-TPPA 7.69%; Herpes Simplex Virus 2 antibodies-35%. Multivariate unconditional Logistic regression analysis found sex intercourse during their menstruation, the possible of HIV infection and STIs test in the last 3 month were main factors affecting STIs prevalence. The relative risks were 2.160,2.131,3.352, 95% confidence intervals (CT) were 1.181~3.951,1.183~3.836 and 1.753~6.411 respectively. Conclusion: FSWs in Qingdao had high risk behaviours and high STIs. Methods should be sought to provide easily accessible and affordable STIs care services and behavioral intervention. Effective interventions for STIs are urgently needed.
