Hypertension has been one of the most prevalent diseases all over the world. Hypertesion not only cause severe damage to heart, brain and kidney but also has been proved related to many disabled and deadly diseases, such as coronary disease and cerebrovascular disorder. It has caused severe damage to human being's phisical and mental healths. In China, hypertension is also prevalent and the number of the patients has been more than 100 million. It has been one of the main lethal dieases in the Chinese population. it should be mentioned that the treatment and nursing of hypertension have been the problem faced by the whole society. For the hypertension has the characters of complicated outbreak factors, long and slow course, unclear beginning period symptoms and long-term pharmacotherapy, only pharmacotherapy in hospital would not be enough.Health education is a behavior employing the method of education to perform preventive education of disease on basis of education theory. By changing the knowledge frame and thought of patents, the aim of optimizing their hehaviors will be pursued. In the period of treatment and nursing of hypertension, health education has been a very important link. In the recent years, more and more studies related to the effect of health education for hypertension have been reported. However, the study employing randomized controlled method seriously to assess the effect of community health education in the treatment and nursing of hypertension hasn't been reported. But it is such high-quality study results that would be more credible proof that would also be the foundations to prove the necessity of perform community health education to hypertension patients. As a result, this paper employed randomized controlled method seriously to assess the effect of community health education for hypertension population and probe the importance and feasibility of community health education. In this paper, 100 patients were included and divided randomly into two groups-the trailed group received the treatment of pharmacotherapy and health education while the controlled group received pharmacotherapy only. The content of community education in this trail included the process of assessing the basic health condition of patients, proposing diangnosis, formulating the plan of health education, performing education and assessing the effects. The content of the health education included lecturing the patients the knowledge of hypertension, teach their family how to test their blood pressure, how to perform a diet with little fat, salt and sugar, quit smoking and limit spirit, control weight, persevere physical exercise, how to take hypotensors and the importance of abiding by the advice of doctors. All the patients were interview twice a week for one year. The pharmacotherapy of all the patients employed ACEI and calcium antagonist. After the intervention of one year, all the patients were interviewed and tested. The content of questionnaire involved the foundamental knowledge to prevent hypertension, related behaviors and self-management. One whose 60% answers for the questions are correct was regard as being up to the standard. Blood pressure, BMI, eyeground artery, cholesterol and triglyceride in the serum were tested. The data were inputed into computer and the software SPSS 13.0 was employed in the statistical test. After the baseline of both groups was tested and regard as balanced and comparable, the writer reached the following conclusions:In the hand of maintaining ideal blood pressure, the resuls show the extent of the blood pressure descreasing in the tailed group is more than that in the controlled group. The level of systolic pressure and diastolic pressure in the trailed group were more ideal. By the t test, the diversity between the groups is significant statistically (P<0.05). The diversity of each group before and after the intervention is significant statistically (P<0.05). However, the blood pressuse level of the patients the controlled group after intervention was not ideal enough. The above results show the pharmacotherapy combined with health education brings more benefits to the patients with hypertension that the single pharmacotherapy. The results of comparison in other indexes show the rate of blood-fat disorder, overweight(BMI>30),damages to kidney, no less thanâ…¡level in eyeground artery are lower in the trailed group than that in controlled group. But the diversity is not significant statistically. The writer proposed the above results may because the intervention time is short so that the further damage of hypertension didn't appear. The results comparing the ablity to grasp the knowledge of hypertension before intervention and after intervention in both groups show the scores in trailed group were more than the controlled group. The diversity is significant statistically (P<0.01). Although the patients in the controlled group had the requirements for the health education, the scores had not been improved significantly for the shortage of health education. The results comparing the change of the behavior of hypertension patients before intervention and after intervention in both groups show the patients in the trailed group has the wish to receive non-medication therapy, namely changing bad behaviors, formulating good behavior. They can eat a banlaned diet, persevere proper physical exercise, maintain ideal weight and improve the compliance of pharmacotherapy. The diversity in trailed group is significant statistically(P<0.01). However, the diversity in the controlled group is not significant statistically(P>0.05)and the diversity between the two groups is significant statistically(P<0.01).This study was a tral to assessing the effect of intervention to change behavior. The differences in this paper are the characteristics that the randomized controlled method was employed and the community health education was concerned. The environment of this study was the realest surroundings in our city. So this study will benefit the following studies that would discuss the feasibility and validity of performing the health education broadly and provide revelations to the treatment and nursing of hypertension.
