ObjectiveIn this work, the morbidity of urinary incontinence (UI) among the adult females who reside in the area of the First Auto Work (FAW) and the effect factors were investigated with statistic survey of epidemiologic data to assess the morbidity and risk factors of UI in this area and provide basis for the prevention and treatment of such disease.MethodologyThe questionnaire survey for female residents(age≥18) in the area of the First Auto Work was carried out with random group samples. The symptoms of female UI were questionnaire surveyed, which included the questions like general condition, factors associated with parturition, UI suffering condition and other symptoms of suburinary tract. The incidence of every factor and the comparison of the composing ratios were analysed by employing the x2 test, and the risk factors associated with UI were ascertained by adopting the univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis. All the data are processed with SPSS 10.0.Results93.2% (1258/1350) of the questionnaires are collected eventually, 96.9% (1219) cases are enrolled in. The morbidity of UI is 41.1%(501/1219), in which stress type accounts for 16.4%(200/1219), urgent type 6.2%(76/1219), mixed type 16.7%(203/1219) and other types 1.8%(22/1219), respectively occupying 15.2%, 39.9%, 40.5% and 4.4% in total incidence. The univariate analysis results indicate that avoirdupois index, marriage status, pregnancy times and menopause are the effect factors of UI. The multivariate logistic regression results confirm that marriage status, pregnancy times and menopause are the effect factors of UI. The univariate analysis results reveal that education, profession, stress, avoirdupois index, pregnancy times, delivery type and menopause are the effect factors of stress type, while age and parturition are the effect factors of mixed type. The multivariate logistic regression results confirm that pregnancy times, profession, avoirdupois index and parturition type are the effect factors of stress type, but only parturition times is the effect factor of the mixed type. ConclusionThe morbidity of UI of female is higher, which is associated with many factors, particularly related with age, avoirdupois index, profession, marriage status, pregnancy times, perineum tear, menopause, and parturition type. The investigation shows that caesarean section is a protective factor.
