Objective: The present study was to investigate the prevalence and risk factors of urinary incontinence, the effect of this disease on quality of life, the cognition on this disease and how many of them go to see their doctors. Method: Ten communities were selected randomly, the questionnaires were sent to these women who living in these selected communities. Result: The prevalence of urinary incontinence was 18.5%, increased with age. The prevalence of urinary incontinence was 51.5% above 65years old. The prevalence of stress urinary incontinence (SUI),urge urinary incontinence (UUI) and mix urinary incontinence (MUI) was 9.1%, 2.4%, 7.0% respectively. Age, body mass index (BMI), constipation hypertension, diabetes mellitus, chronic respiratory disease, menopause were risk factors of urinary incontinence. Occupation, vaginal delivery, abortion, perineum tear were risk factors of stress urinary incontinence, too. While pregnancy can't increase the danger of become urinary incontinence. The patients' qualities of life were interfered, especially mixed urinary incontinence women. But only 60% patients go to a doctor for helping. Most of the patients have the wrong impression about this disease. Sixty seven point one percent of them go to see doctors for help. The more understand the disease, the more of them consult doctors. Conclusion: Urinary incontinence is more common in community women, especially in elder ones. Stress urinary incontinence is the most common type. Which can caused by vaginal delivery,birth difficulty. Urinary incontinence can be cured. But only a few of them go to see doctors.
