Objective:To explore the early effects of ozone on the treatment of knee osteoarthritis .Methods:163 cases of patients with knee osteoarthritis were divided into 2 groups randomly, the physical therapy group with 84 subjects were been giving infrared therapy and magnetotherapy 20min everyday for 2 weeks, in construct, the ozone group, including 79 cases, was injected ozone twice(every one week). Pain, range of motion(ROM) and Lysholm scale of knee were investigated in this study. Students test was used to analyses the difference between the two groups. The statistic alanalysis was Performed by SPSS13.0.Results:Pain was relieved and ROM and Lysholm scale of knee were increased in both groups, ozone therapy showed better effects in relieving pain and raising function of knee. But there had no statistic difference in changing ROM. Every index was in proved obviously in the treatment group and the control group in both group safter the treatment with a significant differenee (P<0.01). While the improvement in rest pain,pain of motion,joint pain. Conclusion:Ozone therapy had better effects in relieving pain and raising function of knee than physical therapy, but they had no significant difference in changing ROM of knee.
