| Objective:To observe the clinical effect of locking compression plate (LCP) for the treatment of nonunion of long bone.Methods:20 cases of long bone nonunion from Nove.2004 to Nove.2007 were treated with locking compression plate,including 15 male and 5 female.The ages of the subjects were 18~75 years (average 40.6 age).20 cases of nonunion include 10 cases of femoral nonunion,6 cases of tibia nonunion,4 cases of humerus nonunion,including 9 cases of hyperplasia and 11 atrophia.All cases were treated by removing previous internal fixation instruments and locking compression plate was used to remain bone fracture. At the meantime,the opulent autogenerous cancellous or artificial bone was grafted at the location of nonunion.The outeome of the treatment was assessed by X-ray .Results: All the patients were available for folow-up after the second operation from 6 to 20 months.They were healed after the reoperation.The healing time varied from 3 to 8 months,averaged 4.6 months.Infection,refracture and breaking of screws did not occur.The fine rate of joint function was 90.0%.Conclusions:LCP can provide the stabilization of the fracture,decrease the rate of local blood circulation disorder,which combining with bone transplantation is an effective method in the treatment of nonunion of long bone. |
