Objective:This controlled study was to compared the clinical efficacy, side efect, clinical symptom and quality of life of FOLFOX4 regimen plus Kang'ai injection and FOLFOX4 regimen chemotherapy alone,to evaluate the clinical value of Kang'ai injection combined with FOLFOX4 regimen for advanced colonrectal cancer patients.Material and Methods:60 patients with qualified advanced colorectal cancers were randomly assigned to receive chemotherapy combined with Kang'ai injection(experimental group 30 cases) or chemotherapy alone(control group 30 cases). The regimen of chemotherapy used here was FOLFOX4,which apply oxaliplatin 85 mg/m2(dl),leucovorin 200 mg/m2(d1,2) followed by bolus 400 mg/m2 5-FU and by a 22-hour 600 mg/m2 5-FU infusion(d1,2),take 2 weeks as 1 cycle.,administrated 4 cycles. To the treating group,in the same time of applying chemotherapy,50ml of Kang'ai injection was given intravenously by dissolving in 250ml of glucose injection per day for 20 successive days,30 days for a course of treatment. The efficacy, adverse effects, clinical symptom, body weight and quality of life of the two groups were evaluated. Results:All 60 patients received 4 cycles of FOLFOX4 regimens.1.The response rates of the experimental group and the control group were 50.0%and 46.7%, respectively(P>0.05).There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups.2.The rate of the adverse effects such as vomiting and neutropenia was significantly lower in the experimental group than in the control group(P<0.05).3.While the clinical symptom was significantly improved in the experimental group as compared with the control group, the rates of improvement were 73.3%and 43.3%, respectively(P<0.05).4.The decrease rates of body weight was statistically difference between the two groups. The rates were 16.7%and 33.3%,respectively(P<0.05).5.The quality of life was significantly improved in the experimental group(P<0.05).6.No patients occur adverse reactions in treating group.Conclusion:FOLFOX4 regimen combined with Kang'ai injection can relieve adverse effects, amendment clinical symptom, improve the quality of life, but cannot increase local control rate for advanced colorectal cancer patients when compared with chemotherapy alone for advanced colorectal cancer patients.Kang'ai injection combined with chemotherapy in the treatment of advanced colorectal cancer have a certain clinical value.
