Objective To observe the analgesic effect of Diclofenac Sodium Spraying on postoperative pain of crown lengthening surgery. Methods A total of 20 subjects were scheduled for crown lengthening surgery ,without periodontal dressing on the postoperative area. Diclofenac Sodium Spraying was applied on the operation area 3 hours after surgery. Analgesic efficacy was assessed based on visual analog scales(VAS) of 3 hours after surgery, and 5min, 20min, 50min, 80min, 90min after using Diclofenac Sodium Spraying. The time of effect appearing ,the satisfaction rate of patients , drug related adverse effects and the state of wound healing were also recorded. Results VAS at different time points trend significantly decreased after using Diclofenac Sodium Spraying(P<0.05).The effect appeared instantly in all subjects. The satisfaction rate of subjects increased compared with the patients without using Diclofenac Sodium Spraying. No marked adverse events occurred .Conclusion Diclofenac Sodium Spraying can suppress the pain quickly and effectively secondary to crown lengthening surgery, and increase the satisfaction rate of patients, with no obvious adverse effects.
