Mai Jing (The pulse classic), the earliest extant monograph on sphygmology in China, was wrote by Wang Shuhe during the Jin Dynasty. The Academic thought comes mainly from the Nei Jing (Canon of Internal Medicine), Nan Jing (Classic of Questioning) and Zhang Zhongjing's Shang Han Za Bing Lun (Treatise on Febrile and Miscellaneous Diseases). It inherited the sphygmology theory before Han and Wei Dynasty, and also contained a lot of long lost writings of the ancient works on sphygmology. So it is the crystallization and combination of the theory and practice of monographs on pulse of Ancient Chinese. Its contribution to the Chinese Medicine academic is multifaceted, one of the greatest contribution is established 24 kinds of pulse and the standard image of the finger-feeling, the first precedent of the distinguish of pulse. Almost half of the book was consistent with Nei Jing, Nan Jing and Zhang Zhongjing's Shang Han Za Bing Lun. It played a role of link (played as a link) between past and future, and has far-reaching effects not only on China's medicine, but also on Europe, Asia, Africa etc. It had a wider impact on the World Medical. In view of its important role on Chinese vein and the preservation of ancient medical, the study of the content is extremely necessary and meaningful. For the majority contents of the book are quoted from the Nei Jing, Nan Jing and Shang Han Za Bing Lun, so our study of the developmental history of Chinese Medicine. We can also inherit and carry forward its essence.Through the citation research, we can understand the academic origins, summarize the thinking and anatomize the similarities and differences between the original and the quotative provision, we can make an evaluation objectively as the status of Nan Jing on the developmental history of Chinese Medicine. We can also inherit and carry forward its essence. We mainly adopted analysis and comparison, summarized and stringent verification, and other scientific methods, analyzed and summarized Mai Jing comprehensively and systematically. We also studied lots of documents and relevant medical books available about Mai Jing. We researched the contents of the book as following aspects.1 the citation research of Nei Jing in Mai JingNei Jing is the earliest existing medical records, which includes Su Wen and Ling Shu. The book describes the highest academic achievement of Chinese Medicine's theory comprehensively and systematically, and became the foundation for the development of thetheoretical basis. Mai Jing cited lots of text from Nei Jing, excluded some words, especially the discussion of the pulse. The discussion of pulse in Mai Jing haven't simply copied the Nei Jing, but reorganized it in a certain ideological framework under the guidance. Moreover, the viscera and Meridian dialectical theory of Mai Jing has greatly enriched the content and form to a more perfect system compared with Nei Jing. The book is a big step forward of distinguish the disease at its strength and viscera dialectical Syndrome. We study Nei Jing separately because the focus of Su Wen and Ling Shu are different. For example, Su Wen mainly focus on the Yin and Yang, viscera treatment, etiology Syndrome, pre-health, while Ling Shu on Meridian moxibustion, talking about the relation of sky staff and human.2 the citation research of Nan Jing in Mai JingNan Jing, which has 81"nan", is another medical classic after Nei Jing, it not only expound the sphygmology originally, but also bring the Meridian Doctrine,Needling and Moxibustion into full play. It expounded the purpose of the ancient medical such as Nei Jing and also added its shortcomings, and played a prominent role in the process of formation and development of the Chinese medicine theory. Mai Jing not only cited a great part of contents from Nan Jing, but also explained the sphygmology theories based on it. Such as Cunkou veins, veins of Yin and Yang are related closely to Nan Jing. At the same time, it raised a point and did a lot of supplements to the theory of Qi and viscera Yu.3 the citation research of Shang Han Za Bing Lun in Mai JingShang Han Za Bing Lun, wrote by Zhang Zhongjing, is the first medical book that mainly described clinical treatment systematic, and also a medical classics combined the theory and practice. But it was not spread widely after finished because the frequently war and the unadvanced printing technology. Wang Shuhe reorganized it for the first time, and included most of the content of it in his book Mai Jing. Shang Han Za Bing Lun was divided into Shang Han Lun and Jin Kui Yao Lue during Song Dynasty. We can investigated the original style and the specific contents of Shang Han Za Bing Lun, as well as the whole structure of Mai Jing through comparing the content of Shang Han Za Bing Lun which was included in Mai Jing with the existing Shang Han Lun and Jin Kui Yao Lue. Such as Shang Han Lun included in the Mai Jing is arrayed by the sweat and vomit or not, while the existing Shang Han Lun is on the order of Three Yang and Three Yin; Jin Kui Yao Lue included in Mai Jing deleted a lot of the prescription, or the name only but the composition, dose and egimen were lost. Through research we can also find that the quoted part of Mai Jing from Shang Han Za Bing Lun were reordered in accordance with the needs of compilation.4 the citation research of other books in Mai JingMai Jing, the important medical book, not only brings various people's theories about the veins together before Han and Jin, but also systematically and comprehensively expatiates on many ancient medical books which were lost. Such as Bian Que Zan, Si Shi Jing, Bian Que Mai Fa, Bian Que Ying Yang Mai Fa and the like. It has a great significance in the literature research,as well as collecting ancient medical books.5 the remaining provisions research in Mai Jing Although majority contents of the book are quoted from the Nei Jing, Nan Jing and Shang Han Za Bing Lun, but also part of it did not find its source. There are two possibilities: one may be written by Wang Shuhe; another may be cited from other books that not existed now.To sum up, the academic thinking of Mai Jing comes mainly from Nei Jing, Nan Jing and Shang Han Za Bing Lun, while containing a lot of long lost writings of the ancient works on sphygmology. Studying and research on its content is of significant importance to inherit the Chinese Veins and preserve the ancient books. It cited from the Nei Jing, Nan Jing and Shang Han Za Bing Lun largely, so it provides a good reference to check & note and explore the structure of these books. Therefore, it has some practical significance to do some research on the citation of Mai Jing.
