Objective:To investigate the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms of macrophage migration inhibitory factors -173(G/C) and the susceptibility to endomertriosis.Method:Typed single nucleotide polymorphisms of MIF gene-173(G/C)in 70 endometriosis patients and 88 controls in Han people of Hunan province by polymerase chain reaction restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-PFLP).Results:①The genotype frequency in EMs patients and controls of MIF-173GG,MIF-173GC,MIF-173CC were 57.I4%,25.71%,17.14 %and 72.73%,22.73%,4.54%respective.There was a significant difference in the frequency of genotype between the two group(P<0.05).②The alleles frequency in EMs patients and controls of MIF-173G,MIF-173C were 70%,30%and 84.09%,15.91%respective. There was a significant difference in the frequency of alleles between the two group(P<0.05)③The genotype of MIF-CC was significantly overrepresented in EMs patients(P<0.0125).The odds ratios(OR)and 95%confidence intervals(CI)were 4.345(1.335~14.140).Conclusion:These results suggest that MIF-173G/C single nucleotide polymorphism was associated with endometriosis in Han people of Hunan province.MIF-CC genotype may be more susceptive to EMs.
