The Relationship Between Serum Leptin And Obesity-associated Hypertension In Adolescent

ObjectiveTo detect blood pressure,body mass index and serum leptin for the children in adolescents, we research to the relation of leptin and hypertension in obesity children.It is useful to understand potential,sharing risk factors between obesity and hypertension.To provide scientific basis on prevention and curing overweight,obesity and cardiovascular disease for children, adolescent and adult.MethodsThe objects were elected in health examination from some of middle schools in taiyuan city and aged from 13 to 15.Serum leptin concentrations were measured by ELISA.Systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),waist,mean arterial pressure(MAP)and body mass index(BMI) were determined in 32 patients with obesity-associated hypertension,31 patients with simple obesity and 34 control children.The correlation between leptin and other parameters were analyzed.Results1.The serum leptin concentration was significantly lower in the control group than in the obesity-associated group and in the simple obesity group(P＜0.05).2.The serum leptin concentration was more significantly higher in female than in male among the same group(P＜0.05).3.Serum leptin concentrations were correlated with BMI,SBP,DBP,MAP and waist in both male and female(P＜0.05).There was a highly significant correlation between serum leptin concentrations and BMI,SBP,MBP and waist in female and male,Next gradual regressive analysis obtained the equation Y=-1.323+0.022X₂+0.307X₁+0.008X₃+0.003X₄(R²=0.773, F=79.322,P＜0.001) and it demonstrated lepin existed dependent relation with sex,BMI,SBP and waist.Conclusions1.The children have different hyperleptinaemia in the obesity-associated hypertension group and the obesity group.Serum leptin is predomintly related to correlate with BMI. indicating that leptin is highly correlated with obesity.2.The leptin concentration in female is significantly higher than in male in the same group, indicating sex affects serum leptin level.3.lepin existed dependent relation with sex,BMI,SBP and waist.These illustrated lepin had influenced to blood pressure,supposed serum leptin might participate in the happening and developing process of hypertension in adolescent obesity children.
