Objective:To improve the quality of multiculturalism nursing care and to provide information for the training and administration of the multiculturalism nursing care in the nurses. Subjects and methods:Choose seven class 3 first level general hospitals in Shanxi Province. 700 practitioner nurses were taken from who has worked for more than a year and has a licensed nurse by the proportion of hospital qualifications. Use questionnaire survey. Data collection was by the general questionnaire, nurse cultural sensitivity questionnaire, nurse continuing education questionnaire.After the Data entry, use SPSS13.0 to carry out statistically descriptive and analysis.Results:1. The Nurses overall cultural sensitivity level in this study is not high, in which the cultural awareness level is relatively better than the others, and the education and hospital background, the cultural understanding, cultural interaction were all got low scores. Apart from the education and hospital background, the scores of the other aspects were lower than the study on cultural sensitivity of nursing undergraduate students by Geyunyun.2. There were significant differences between the nurses with different educational background in cultural awareness and the cultural interaction, and there was no significant difference in cultural understanding, in education and hospital background, There were significant differences in Self-awareness, recognizing the impact of cultural factors, with respect for the world and values, individual general behavior, professional behavior, There was no significant difference in use open, truthful, flexible affection to get along with others, self-evaluation and the hospital environment.3. There was significant difference between the different professional title nurses.and there was no significant difference between the nurses with different work histories, and different-source in cultural sensitivity level.Conclusion:1. The Nurses overall cultural sensitivity level in class 3 first level general hospitals of Shanxi Province is not high, in which the cultural awareness level is relatively better than the others,and the education and hospital background, the cultural understanding, cultural interaction were all got low scores.2. There was significant difference between the nurses with different educational background in in cultural sensitivity level, and so was the different professional titles, there was no significant difference between the nurses with work histories, and different-source in cultural sensitivity level.Suggestion:1. Suggestions in nursing education.2. Suggestions in nursing continuing education and training of multi-cultural nursing.Originality in this study:1. Related study on cultural sensitivity of clinical nurses in our country that reported has not beenfound;2. Propose relevant recommendations to continuing education and training of multi-cultural nursing, and provide theoretical basis for it.Plans for making further investigations:1. Further investigate the nurses understanding situation about the relevant knowledge of the multicultural nursing.2. Initially set up the training contents and mode about the relevant knowledge of multicultural nursing, and carry out intervention to improve the nurses'cultural competence.
