Objective: To detect the expression of EGFR, Raf-1 and Akt in esophageal squamous carcinoma and investigate their relationships; analyse their relationships between their expresssions and clincoipathological parameters. Methods: Immunohistochemistry EnVision method was adopted to determine the expression of EGFR, Raf-1 and Akt in 60 cases of human esophageal squamous carcinoma and 15 cases normal esophagea tissues. Results: The positive rates of EGFR, Raf-1 and Akt in esophageal carcinoma were 71.7%(43/60), 80%(48/60) and 78.3%(47/60) respectively while the positive rates of EGFR, Raf-1 and Akt in normal esophagea tissues were 33.3%(5/15), 13.3%(2/15) and 20.0%(3/15) respectively. The expression of EGFR, Raf-1, Akt in esophageal carcinoma were significantly correlated with lymph node metastasis(P<0.05) but not with other parameters; The relationships between EGFR and Raf-1, EGFR and Akt, Raf-1 and Akt expression were significant(P<0.05).Conclusions: The overexpressions of EGFR, Raf-1 and Akt may correlate to tumorgenesis and development of esophageal carcinoma and may be targets for targeted therapy of esophageal carcinoma...
