The research deals with the anti-fatigue effect of the mixture of R.angusta Nakai and FDP and its mechanism by a succession of control experiments to find out the best percentage. It provides experimental basis for further oral use in clinical field of this mixture. Results : Anti-fatigue effect is demonstrated in the mixture of R.angusta Nakai and FDP, proved to be safe and effective. The experimental group with a mixture of R.angusta Nakai 10 g/kg plus FDP200mg/kg shows the best effect. Fatigue animal model was set up by swimming mice to show anti-fatigue effect. Analyses of the results indicate that there are mutual effects between R.angusta Nakai and FDP under certain ratio, namely, the mixture group is more effective than either R.angusta Nakai group or FDP group separately and it is much more effective than control group. As a result, the mixture of R.angusta Nakai and FDP can increase activity of LDH and decrease LD accumulation after anaerobic sports to enhance physical anti-fatigue ability. Besides it can improve post sports Hepatic glycogen level of mice to provide more sugar for aerobic athletics. Anti-fatigue effect is achieved when the mixture improves activity of SOD and removes free radicals scavenging, to protect biological membrane of organic cells. Its mechanism is related to regulation of energy metabolism and activity of anti-oxygen enzyme. Further study should be made on its synthetic anti-fatige effect.
