Clinical Observation On Cases Of Simple Obesity Treated With Acupoint Catgut Embeding

According to modern medicine , simple obesity is a disease that the intake of energy is much more than the consume, so that over accumulation of fat pills up in the body. Metabolism of the patients is probably associated with the obstacles, but not the abnormal performance of nervous and endocrine. Economic development has changeda eting and lifestyle habits, as a result there are more and more people suffring obesity. Obesity is a dangerous factor for heart disease ,2 diabetes, hyperlipemia, cardiovascular and cerebral vascular diseases etc. This is also one of the major threats to human health. Therefore, fiding effective and safe weight redution methods is an important field in medicine. In recent years, losing weight by traditional Chinese acupuncture has prove excellent clinic effect. Acupuncture treatment is widely accepted by the patients because of its marked curative effect but without side effects.Purpose: The article was to observe the effect of catgut implantation at acupointon curing simple obesity and discuss the mechanism.Methods: 60 cases were divided into two groups randomly, 30 cases were treated with acupoint catgut embeding, while the other 30 cases , which was the control group, were treated with eletro-acupunture. The acupoints of two groups were the same. Acupoint catgut embeding group was given once a week, and one course was constituted of 4 times; eletro-acupunture group was given three times a week, and one course was constituted of 4 times. Each group was given for two courses. The cases were observed clinical effect and the obesity index. In this clinical study, cases were evaluated with SF-36 form (The Medical Outcomes Study 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey) , which made the study innovative to some extent. The database is established , using SPSS13.0 for statistical analysis.Results: The total effctive rate is 93.33% in traet group, and the total effctive rate is 80.00% in control group. There is significant difference between two groups (P＜0.05) . Those obesity index such as body weight, body massindex(BMI) and waist and hip line decreased significantly after the courses of treatment, There is significant difference between two groups (P＜0.05) .The therapy decrease the level of blood-lipid, and the degree of two groups is same (P>0.05) . Cases treated by thread embedding were found their health state significantly improved, their health state improved better than that of the acupuncture group (P＜0.05) .Conclusion: Acupoint catgut embeding therapy has a satisfactory therapeutic effect on obesity. It not only can significantly reduce the obesity index , but also improve lipid metabolism and health status, so that safe weight redution has been achieved. Acupoint catgut embedment. Because of easy handling, less pain, and saving time, the acupoint catgut embeding should be widely used for simple obesity.
