Study On The Competency Model And Evaluating Method Of Military Medical Subject Leaders

In military medical organization and management, military medical subject leaders are one of the center works of the health business construction and are leaders and constructors who make military medcine develop in PLA. Military medical subject leaders'good and bad is directly related to the development of military medicine and affects officer and soldiers'mind, body health and fighting result in the peace and war period. With the application of the hi-tech weapons in the military fields, the future hi-tech local warfare has imposed a high demand of the competency upon military medical subject leaders. Military medical subject leaders are one of the most important portions of military medcine and their diathesis have directly influence on the diathesis of all the military medical groups. The competency defines the potential individual characteristic that can be shown to differentiate superior performers from the average in certain domains. So, making a research on the competency of the military medical subject leaders and assuring its component is of great significance to furthering the level of military medicine, and to founding,selecting and using scientifically military medical subject leaders and to strengthening health service ability.The present subject is aimed to study the competency model and evaluating method of military medical subject leaders adapt to the military demand in the future, and establish the scientifical competency model and evaluating method,and provide the scientifical theoretical basis and practical tools for the psychological selection,training and evaluation of the military medical subject leaders .In the present study, employing qualitative research, the characteristics of competency for military medical subject leaders are investigated using literature method and expert evaluation techniques, and a 20-items competency theoretical model for military medical subject leaders is established. Thereafter, half-structured interview was done on the competency of military medical subject leaders. Expert panel method is used to set up the competency interview model of military medical subject leaders to check the theoretical model.At last,the militrary medical subject leaders were tested to investigate the subject leaders'personality characteristics by the chinese version of the MBTI-G and to perfect the evaluating method.Main results and conclusions:1. A competency theoretical model with 20 items for military medical subject leaders is established. The 20 items are:happy industry, service consciousness for the soldier, creativeness, management ability, sacrifice sprit, problem-solving,patience,competitive consciousness,active study, encouragement, insight for competent people,discernment, influence, prestige, decision-making,tolerate,affinity, plasticity,loyalty and keep improving. 2. A 3-dimension competency interview model for military medical subject leaders consisting of 20 items is established. 3 dimensions include dedication, personality attraction and management. Dedication consist of happy industry, service consciousness for the soldier, creativeness, sacrifice sprit and try for the best(5 items). Personality attraction consist of self-control, discernment,holding the opportunity,influence, prestige, tolerate,interpersonal relation, plasticity and loyalty(9 items). Management consist of management ability, problem-solving,understanding other, encouragement,insight for competent people and decision-making (6 items). The theoretical model is checked by the interview model. The interview model provides a scientific theoretical and practical tool for selection and training of military medical subject leaders.3.The military medical subject leaders with ESTJ is the most.The second personality types are ISTJ,ESFJ and ENTJ.ENFJ,INTJ,ESFP,ISTP and ESTP are the least.And the inclination is"E","T","J"and"S".
