Objective: In order to understand the affect of irrigation drainage on the health of resident population, we investigate the cause-specific mortality rate and occurrence of birth-defect in Luancheng county, Shijiazhuang, Hebei province, China, from 2002 to 2006. By compare the malignant tumor mortality rate between different irrigation areas. To provide intervention method for the sewage irrigation of influence crowd health in the next step.Methods: Cause of death review investigation. By compare the malignant tumor mortality rate between different irrigation areas, we found that irrigation drainage increased the whole mortality rate in resident population, especially the malignant tumor rate in male population. Wash hands after Sewage irrigation work, Sewage irrigation vegetable, drink raw water were the risk factors which can increase malignant tumor mortality in Sewage irrigation area. Therefore, intervention method should include the purification of sewage, improvement of the water supply and sewerage work, and decreasing water pollution.
