In the history of procreation, after having experienced the so-called natural chosen period of"the superior will survive while the inferior will die"and abstinent procreation period of"give birth to less children and cultivate them well", the human beings are now undergoing a new procreation revolution of gene project by the use of artificial procreation technology. As the development of science and technology, a new way of procreation which applies artificial insemination to solve the problem of human's failure to procreate comes in to being. Wonderful as it is by bringing evangel to human beings, however, the application of the artificial insemination technology also causes conflicts between the procreation culture and science and technology, for it brings forwards many phenomena and view of value that violate the traditional ethic. Those conflicts are mainly centering on how to destruct the contravention on traditional thought such as the moral of marriage responsibility, sex, dignity, benefit-orientation on procreation and life. How to guide the public to face and deal with those thorny conflicts on ethic in a better way so as to help them get out of their moral confusedness? How to construct a healthy and civilized procreation culture as well as the cognitive system on procreation moral? To answer these questions, it needs us to stand on the philosophy high to analyze the assisted reproduction technology in a more complete way, by fully estimating the traditional culture, breaking through the previous singleness parochial thought and applying multi-disciplines such as philosophy, anthropology and sociology view to judge the ethic and make the rational reflection, exploring the impact of assisted reproduction technology on the development of the society as well as its relationship with the traditional procreation. The latest studies on the assisted reproduction technology are mainly on its relationship with the social ethic and law. As for the social background of the happening of the assisted reproduction technology and its relationship with the trod ional culture, there is little discussion. In this light, we carry out the present study. In this thesis we will first analyze the form of the assisted reproduction technology, then we talk about the transfer and development of the traditional procreation culture in modern times; finally we reveal what the new technology can succeed in the ethic culture and life philosophy and what difficulty it is facing. By doing so, the culture connotation of assisted reproduction technology and its culture motive will be illustrated thoroughly and the public's understanding of the procreation culture will be improved, thus leading to a better understanding of the assisted reproduction technology. The procreation culture mentioned in this thesis refers to the procreation way and view of value which created and abided by a certain colony. It mainly contains the three following aspects: first, the material or technology culture, referring to the application of assisted reproduction technology in medical technology; the social culture and ethic culture, referring to the procreation regulation; the mental culture and letter culture, referring to the view on procreation. The present study will focus on these three aspects to analyze the assisted reproduction technology. There are three parts in this thesis. The first part analyzes the assisted reproduction technology on the perspective of technology culture by making a review on the history of human reproduction, marriage and ways of reproduction as well as presenting some relevant issues and contents about the assisted reproduction technology. The second part is about the relationship between the assisted reproduction technology and the social culture. We first make a contrast on the change of the family structure causing by the application of the assisted reproduction technology, then discuss the puzzle of the traditional ethic in the modern times and the development of the procreation culture. The third part discusses the assisted reproduction technology on the perspective of mental culture by probing into the life philosophy containing in the assisted reproduction technology and analyzing the impact of assisted reproduction technology on traditional life philosophy from the angle of humanity. There is humanistic feature in science, and the development of it fits for human being since we human being is a kind of spheroid animal. If we consider the assisted reproduction technology as a kind of procreation culture, we can put it in a more righteous way. The assisted reproduction technology is a new thing which based on the traditional procreation culture. The view that the assisted reproduction technology will overthrow the traditional procreation way is unreal and it violate the law of nature for the development of living creatures. Whether it is right or wrong to develop and apply the assisted reproduction technology will be examined by the traditional culture and our society. There exists no rightness or wrongness in science itself. The key point is that, it depends on how our human beings carry it out and whether it is compatible with our social environment.
